Birmingham Squadron's Lester Quinones picked for NBA G League Up Next Game

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham Squadron guard Lester Quinones was named to the 2025 NBA G League Up Next Game player pool, according to the league office Wednesday. The Squadron acquired the former University of Memphis student-athlete from the Santa Cruz Warriors in a December trade. Since joining the Squadron, the 6-foot-4 guard has averaged 18.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.2 steals in 12 regular season games. Between the 2022-25 seasons, Quinones has competed in 45 NBA contests as either a Golden State Warrior or Philadelphia 76er. Quinones entered the NBA with Golden State after going undrafted in 2022. NCAA beach volleyball championships to take place in Alabama rather than California The NBA G League Up Next Game will be played as part of NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco at 2:30 p.m. central time Feb. 16. It will be held at the Moscone Center and streamed on Tubi and the NBA app. The NBA G League chose Quinones for one of its 18 selections. There are 10 other players who earned a spot in the event via fan voting. The contest will include four influencer general managers drafting teams of seven players. NBA G League coaches will be assigned the teams. There will be two semifinal games and one championship contest. The team that scores 30 points first will win the matchup.
