Tom Grennan wrecked car after crashing into faeces filled sewage pipes
Tom Grennan was left covered in poo when he smashed his car into a London hotel's sewage pipes in an underground car park. The 29-year-old singer wrecked his six-day-old Mercedes-Benz G-Class - also known as a G-Wagon - when he forced the vehicle into the parking facility when it did not fit after he needed somewhere to stop off for a comfort break en route to a ballet show date with his wife, Danniella Carraturo. Tom - who was wearing a white suit - recalled how the G-Wagon's sun roof "ripped open" before his vision went "dark" and he felt cold all over his body. Then he realised he and his car were "covered" in human excrement and other waste. Tom - who gets "PTSD" from recalling the stinker of an ordeal - told Roman Kemp on the 'You About?' podcast: "Everything went dark, right? And, and cold. And I'm sat in this brand-new G-Wagon with human waste. "There's tampons in the car. There's like - I've got a white suit on because I'm going to the ballet, so I wore a white suit to the ballet. So now I'm like covered in waste. "And, honestly, I had to do the whole journey again because I had to turn the car around. "There's full-on solid poos. And I'm like, Oh my days." Tom, who cried as the G-Wagon's sunroof caved in, bawled when he phoned Danniella to explain what had happened and to apologise for being "late". And the 'Let's Go Home Together' singer, who did not want to go to the ballet in the first place, was shocked by Danniella's response to the dirty disaster. Tom said: "I got up and rang my missus because I was late, and I was like in tears. "And I rang my missus like, 'Well, you're never gonna believe what's happened.' And she went, 'I knew you didn't want to go to the ballet!" "I couldn't believe her reaction!" Before telling Roman - whose dad is former Spandau Ballet bassist Martin Kemp and mum is ex-Wham! vocalist Shirlie Kemp - about his tale, Tom said: "This car story gives me PTSD. Like, I can't go into underground car parks."

Tom Grennan wows Big Weekend crowd with four huge guests including Spice Girl
Pop star Tom Grennan already won over the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend crowd with his impressive vocals, but decided to call upon his famous friends to join him on stage Tom Grennan left fans gobsmacked after bringing out Melanie C, The Zutons, KSI and Ella Henderson at BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend. The Bedford-born hitmaker headlined the festival three years after playing the BBC Future Sounds Stage. Thousands of music lovers packed into Sefton Park on Friday to see him perform his biggest hits including Let's Go Home Together, Little Bit Of Love and Lionheart. Tom, 29, was joined by Spice Girls icon Melanie to perform her Number three hit, When You're Gone, originally sang with Bryan Adams. Meanwhile, he sang Valerie (2006) with The Zutons. Just before taking to the stage, Tom made a huge announcement. Over on Instagram, it was announced that Tom had racked up one billion UK streams for his music on songs such as Higher, Let's Go Home Together and Little Bit of Love. Reflecting on his achievements, the Bedford-born legend said: "Morning people, what a beautiful day by the way. I'm heading up to Liverpool, 'cause today's the day, I headline Radio 1's Big Weekend. "Remembering the past eight or nine years and how crazy they have been. But remembering really today, the moment I pressed send on Something In The Water. "Hoping that someone at BBC Introducing would hear it. And now look, eight or nine years later, we're headlining the gaff. I just want to say thank you to everybody who's been on the journey with me from the beginning to now. This is just the start, but tonight is a big one. If you're coming, Liverpool, I'll see you there. Thank you so much for Radio 1 for believing in me from the beginning." Speaking to the Mirror this week, The Zutons' frontman Dave McCabe said of the smash hit, which was covered by Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson in 2017: '"It was really good, but I didn't realise at the time, you don't sit there and think 'This is going to be huge', at the time, we'd already had a huge hit with it, we'd sold over 200,000 singles which is a lot. '"But when that [cover] started getting traction and going big, the band kind of started falling apart – and it wasn't because of that. You'd look at that and be like 'God, you've got to write another one of these,' you can't force anything like that. I think it all happened at a cushy moment because we were falling out as a group, and then that went big and it kind of buried us. 'I think being on a major label, the pressure does get to you, you don't realise it." Reflecting on the cover, he said it was "good" but had no idea it would take off so quickly. "I didn't realise, no one did, that she was going to die. When she did, it was kind of immortalised even more. 'I don't even see it, is it our song anymore? It's this other thing now." Amy tragically died just four years after the release of Valerie, aged 27. It was confirmed that the singer who was found unresponsive at her home in Camden, north London, died from alcohol poisoning.

Tom Grennan shares huge update hours before headlining Radio 1's Big Weekend
Tom Grennan has shared some rather important news with his social media followers just before he's due to headline BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Liverpool Tom Grennan has made a huge announcement before his BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend headline slot tonight. The musician, who just three years ago played the Future Sounds Stage at the festival, will close the event tonight, having teased a cameo appearance from KSI. But while he's currently gearing up to perform some of his biggest hits, including Remind Me, Don't Break The Heart, and Little Bit Of Love, it appears Tom has some celebrating to do. Although he's got a string of awards in his trophy cabinet, including Best UK Act from the 2023 MTV EMAs and two Music Week Awards, Tom has another one to add to the collection. Over on Instagram, it was announced that Tom had racked up one billion UK streams for his music on songs such as Higher, Let's Go Home Together and Little Bit of Love. The BRIT Awards said: "1 billion UK streams for @ With massive hits including Little Bit of Love, Let's Go Home Together, and Higher, Tom receives hit BRIT Billion Award ahead of headlining @bbcradio1's Big Weekend this weekend!" The post was flooded with praise for Tom, with BBC Radio 1 star Conor Knight exclaiming: "Top boyyy," alongside a fire emoji. "Congraaaaats Tom oh my God!," said one fan. A second went on to type: "What a brilliant announcement to wake up to. Well deserved. Congratulations Tom." Reflecting on his achievements, the Bedford-born legend said: "Morning people, what a beautiful day by the way. I'm heading up to Liverpool, 'cause today's the day, I headline Radio 1's Big Weekend. "Remembering the past eight or nine years and how crazy they have been. But remembering really today, the moment I pressed send on Something In The Water. If you're coming, Liverpool, I'll see you there. Thank you so much for Radio 1 for believing in me from the beginning." Tom will join the likes of Natasha Bedingfield, Biffy Clyro, Katy B and Nia Archives tonight, as they play to a sold-out Sefton Park. Tickets for the event sold out almost instantly, but the BBC will be covering it on their various platforms. Tom's achievement comes just weeks after he opened up to the Mirror about his upcoming album, Everywhere I went, Led Me To Where I Didn't Want To Be. He said: "Everything's good, I'm really excited. The new music is definitely a different sound, so I'm looking forward to seeing if people love it or not. But in all honesty, I'm nearly 30 now and it's taken me up til now, I'm finally the artist that I wanted to be and I'm making the music that I really loved and I've taken inspiration from old records, new records and really dived into different sounds and different instruments. I've loved every second of it. Hopefully it goes well."
