New mochi donut shop is set to open in Mount Pleasant
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – A new snack shop is bringing a twist to Japanese and Korean-inspired treats to the Mount Pleasant food scene this weekend.
Let's Mochi Donuts is opening its doors to guests on June 13 at 644 Long Point Road, Suite D, starting at 10 a.m.
To celebrate their grand opening, the snack shop is offering 20% off all menu items this Friday only.
Guests can try menu items like mochi donuts, mochi ice cream, bubble tea, Korean fried chicken, and Korean corn dogs.
According to Xue Gong Chen, the founder of the eatery, he is tapping into the popularity of mochi donuts, which are known for their springy texture and signature 'pong de ring' shape.
These colorful donuts are also made with rice flour, making them a gluten-free option.
'People want more than just a snack—they want an experience,' says co-founderSabrina Liang. 'Let's Mochi is fun, fresh, and made to brighten your day, whether you'regrabbing a box of donuts or sipping some bubble tea.'
