Vehicle rolls down Lethbridge embankment injuring driver and passenger

A Lethbridge Police Service cruiser is seen in a stock photo. Lethbridge police say charges are pending in a single-vehicle rollover that left two people badly injured. The vehicle was found in the coulees behind the 800 block of Jessie Mcleay Road North just before 9:30 p.m. on Monday. Police say a 33-year-old passenger was found a short distance from the vehicle. The 35-year-old driver was still inside. Both were transported to hospital with serious injuries. Investigators determined the vehicle was northbound on Stafford Drive when the driver failed to navigate a corner, crashing through a chain link fence and rolling the vehicle multiple times down an embankment. Police believe both speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
