Interpretive Center takes a look at local parish history in latest What's on Wednesday installment

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — The Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center is sharing a look back at a local church parish's history in the latest installment of their 'What's on Wednesday' event series. On April 2 at 5:30 p.m., Lisa Nebuhr will share the history of Sioux City's Mater Dei Catholic Parish (Immaculate Conception and Nativity Churches), as well as a look at what's going on in the parish today as the congregations look to the future. Native Siouxland crop in focus for latest installment of weekly event series

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Sioux City's Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center has Native American history and heritage in focus for the latest installment of their 'What's on Wednesday' series. On Wednesday, March 26 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., kids and families can stop by to learn about maize, a crop native to Siouxland. Education Coordinator Elizabeth Albright will also lead attendees in making their own beaded Indian Corn. Attendees will also have a chance to design a bushel, a kind of basket meant to carry dry goods, and to complete some activity pages.
