First council vote on land sale for new Sioux City sports complex unanimous yes
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Council members unanimously voted yes to the first consideration of a proposal from Siouxland Developers LLC to buy 2.3 acres of land next to Lewis and Clark Park.
The sale price for the city property is $50,000.
Developers said that they plan to invest $5 million to build a new 65,000 square-foot sports complex.
City documents indicate that the facility would provide year-round athletic opportunities for the region. It would include five basketball courts and nine volleyball courts as well as a batting cage.
