BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — Bridgeport police say three juveniles and an adult were arrested Wednesday after officers allegedly found a stolen firearm in their vehicle. Police said an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle after seeing motor vehicle violations. The 32-year-old driver was in the vehicle with three juveniles at the time. Man arrested on firearm charges during traffic stop in Bridgeport According to police, the officer found a loaded black handgun with a laser inside the vehicle and the group was arrested and transported to booking facilities. The Stoeger STR-9C with a 13-round magazine with 13 live 9mm rounds was later determined stolen from North Carolina, police said. The driver- Andre J. Lewison of Bridgeport- was charged with nearly a dozen offenses, including two counts of risk of injury to a child, second-degree reckless endangerment, and stealing a firearm. CT man, three juveniles arrested after police allegedly find stolen gun during car stop

A man and three juveniles were arrested when police found a stolen gun with a large-capacity magazine during a traffic stop in Bridgeport on Wednesday. A patrol officer conducted the stop for alleged motor vehicle violations and identified the driver as 32-year-old Andre J. Lewison of Bridgeport, according to Sgt. Julio Diez of the Bridgeport Police Department. There were also three juveniles in the vehicle. Diez said backup officers responded to the stop before a handgun with a laser on it was allegedly discovered. The gun was later found to be a Stoeger STR-9C with a loaded 13-round magazine. The firearm had been reported stolen in North Carolina, according to Diez. Lewison and the juveniles were arrested on charges of carrying a pistol without permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, stealing a firearm, illegal possession of large capacity firearm, illegal alteration of firearm identifier and criminal possession of a firearm. Lewison was also charged with two counts each of risk of injury to a child and second-degree reckless endangerment and a single count of failure to display plates and a tinted window violation. His bond was set at $50,000. The juveniles were each issued a summons and released to their parents.
