Nashik: Students joining schools in Nashik for the new academic year were in for a delight as their first day was marked by traditional music, the presence of officials and elected representatives. Teachers and other seniors welcomed the students with 'aarti' and sweets, along with installed selfie points and decked-up classrooms to give students a more positive experience on their first day. Students rejoiced as got to meet their old and new friends, as well as new teachers who may have joined the school during the vacation. "It was my son Aryan's first day at the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) school. Though our home is next to the school, he was reluctant to step inside. I had to go leave him at the hands of the teachers, despite him crying," said Ranjana Jadhav from Satpur. This year, several ministers, public representatives, and officials welcomed the students on the first day at school. Senior students at Rachana Vidyalaya were dressed in traditional attire and played the sambal, a traditional instrument, while others blew the tutari, announcing the entry of the students and the teachers receiving them. "We got sweets when we entered the classroom. It was felt nice ," said Kshiti Sakhare, a students who entered the NMC school in Ambad. In some schools, the children were brought to the school in a bullock cart with the children playing Lezim. School education minister Dada Bhuse welcomed the students at a zilla parishad (ZP) school in Tungan Digar, Baglan taluka. This school is located in a tribal area. "The hallmark of the school is the excellent academic quality. As many as 13 students from the village took admission to Services Preparatory Institute in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Hence, thie minister chose this school," said block education officer of Baglan, Chitra Deore. The minister interacted with the students on the occasion and made a video call to deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde from his mobile. "He also served sweets to the children after the formal programme ended," the officer added.
