Taste Cumbria is back - Check out the 2025 events calendar

Taste Cumbria is back for 2025 with a line-up of food festivals, family fun, and live music. The first event of the year is set to take place in Wigton on Saturday, April 26, with a range of free entertainment. The centrepiece of the Wigton event will be on Water Street car park, featuring a producers' market, hot food court, music stage, climbing wall, and children's rides. Liam Moorhouse, an entertainer, will be hosting activities, while NADT Youth will stage art and crafts. A new addition this year is a competition to create a celebratory flag for Wigton, with details to be announced soon. Taste Cumbria Wigton will be followed by the Taste of the Sea festival in Maryport on Saturday, August 9, and Sunday, August 10. The flagship Taste Cumbria festival will be in Cockermouth on Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28, followed by the second Taste Cumbria Carlisle event on Saturday, November 1, and Sunday, November 2. Taste Cumbria Christmas on Saturday, December 6, and Sunday, December 7, also in Cockermouth, will end the year. Trader pitches are now available for the Producers' Markets. Visit to get an application form. According to organisers, priority will be given to Cumbrian producers, but enquiries are welcome from other areas. The Taste Cumbria food festivals are organised by Cumberland Council. Councillor Anne Quilter, the council's executive member for vibrant and healthy places, said: "The Taste Cumbria festivals not only enliven our town and city centres, they bring tens of thousands of visitors and put millions of pounds into the county's economy. "They also showcase some of the best artisan producers in Cumbria, demonstrating the wealth of talent we have in creating amazing food and drink, arts and crafts, and lively entertainment. "I am looking forward to seeing another fabulous year of events.'
