Library on the Go! brings free events to Waco
WACO, Texas (FOX 44) – During this week of Spring Break, the Waco-McLennan County Library hosted its annual Library on the Go!, consisting of four days of free events throughout the community.
This week they have held events at Heritage Square downtown, the Waco Independent School District Football Stadium, the Waco Suspension Bridge, and then ending on Thursday at the Waco Civic Theatre.
Families filled the building for a morning of fun as children's librarian Stacy Phillips gave a live puppet show to get children excited about reading.
'It's great, because literacy can be throughout Waco. Literacy does not have to stay inside the library. So we take our literacy outdoors and people realize how fun reading is,' Phillips says.
After the puppet show, the audience was able to witness a play rehersal – and even take a behind the scenes tour of the theatre.
