Kevin Costner Still Pining for Jewel After Rumored Romance: ‘She Has Other Priorities'
Kevin Costner and '90s folk-pop queen Jewel's rumored romance may have fizzled out a while ago, but he remains a huge admirer of her music, and he's looking forward to being front and center at her upcoming performances whilst quietly hoping it'll lead to more, Life & Style has exclusively learned. "Kevin's big miscalculation in his ongoing attempts to woo Jewel is his failing to understand that she isn't done yet, and she's certainly not in any frame of mind where she would want to be arm candy,' a source exclusively tells Life & Style. 'You talk to Jewel for five minutes and it becomes very clear that she still has a lot she wants to do with her music career and writing, and she still longs to win a Grammy after being nominated four times during her heyday.' The insider also makes it clear that the 'Who Will Save Your Soul' singer, 50, 'has other priorities ahead of finding a new romantic relationship.' 'For all of Kevin's lofty talk about his own musical ambitions, he is still not much more than an amateur while Jewel is undeniably a seasoned pro. It took a while for Kevin to really understand this, but he remains in awe of her talent and supportive of her career, even from a distance,' the source explains to Life & Style. 'He would have loved to collaborate with her and even date her, but he has to resign himself to being her number one fan instead, because she still has a lot of mountains she wants to climb herself!" Kevin, 70, and Jewel maintained a low-key romance after they sparked dating rumors in November 2023, seven months after the Yellowstone alum and ex-wife Christine Baumgartner separated. They finalized their divorce in February 2024. The pair met while participating in a pro-am tennis tournament at billionaire Richard Branson's Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands. 'Kevin looked handsome, tan and fit. All the guests were going crazy over him,' a source told In Touch in December 2023. 'He really hit it off with Jewel.' The insider told the outlet that the pair were seated next to each other at a dinner and were 'laughing and chatting' and 'looked like they were having a lot of fun.' Chatter about Jewel and Kevin's romance continued to make headlines in the following months, leading the musician to address the speculation during an April 2024 interview with Elle. 'He's a great person,' Jewel told the publication, who noted that she was 'blushing' while talking about the Bodyguard actor. 'The public fascination is intense for sure.' Later that month, In Touch reported that Jewel was a positive aspect in Kevin's life during his nasty divorce battle with Christine, 51. 'Jewel's been through divorce too [with ex-husband Ty Murray], though not in such a public way as Kevin. The media interest in her romance with Kevin isn't something she's used to, but she's handled it remarkably well,' the second insider told the outlet. 'She's not someone who caters to the spotlight. She can turn it off. Her focus is on keeping her life as normal as possible. She sees Kevin for the sensitive, caring soul he is.' Kevin, for his part, addressed the dating rumors during a candid interview with Howard Stern in June 2024, claiming their relationship was strictly platonic while still singing her praises. 'No, Jewel and I are friends. We've never gone out, ever,' he said at the time. 'She's special, and I don't want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that's what we have. She's special to me. She's beautiful enough to go out with.'

In Touch, Life & Style, Closer and First for Women Magazines to Shutter, Lay Off Entire Staffs
Four publications have reached the end of the road: In Touch, Life & Style, Closer and First for Women. McClatchy Media Company, which owns and operates the magazines, informed staff on Friday that all four will be sunsetting in the coming weeks when final issues are published by the end of June, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. First for Women, In Touch, Life & Style and Closer will publish their final editions between June 20 and 27,' McClatchy spokesperson Julie Pendley said in a statement to THR. 'We are grateful for the meaningful contributions of the affected employees and are providing support during the transition.' It's unclear how many employees are impacted by the layoffs. THR has reached out for additional comment on the number of staffers affected. The news marks yet another blow to the media and magazine business, which has suffered widespread layoffs and cutbacks in recent years due to declining readership, algorithmic changes, a rise in AI and leaning toward social platforms like TikTok. Just this week, Business Insider confirmed it was cutting its staff by 21 percent in layoffs that would impact every department. The McClatchy shutterings also mark the end of an era for the celebrity tabloid business with the loss of three high-profile titles in the space. Though McClatchy is best known as a newspaper publisher with such newsroom operations as The Kansas City Star, Miami Herald, The Sacramento Bee, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, The Charlotte Observer and more, it expanded its reach into lifestyle and entertainment categories when it merged with accelerate360, a distribution, logistics and media company. It acquired Us Weekly in the merger, and according to a source, that title was 'always the star' above In Touch, Life & Style and Closer, the latter of which covered the older generation of stars while the former two are much more traditional glossy celebrity tabloids. 'It's very expensive to do print these days,' added a source of the closures. 'The numbers are continuously down though there still is value in these brand names so it's still possible that someone could purchase them and keep them alive.' Despite the pullback in print, the magazines boasted online readership and considerable social media followings. On Instagram alone, both Life & Style and In Touch counted north of half a million followers in addition to robust websites. According to an editor letter published by editor-in-chief Liz Vaccariello, First for Women was founded in 1989 and publishes every two weeks. The current focus was on delivering 'guidance and encouragement on everything from beauty and fashion to health, psychology, diet and nutrition. Plus, all things food, family and home,' per Vaccariello. While Hollywood's talent publicists may not be shedding tears today, those who made a living in the celebrity weekly space at one of the publications are having a tough time. 'Just another black Friday in the tabloid business,' said a source with a sigh. Sarah Jessica Parker Confirms Whether Samantha Will Make Another Cameo in 'And Just Like That'
And Just Like That... fans, listen up: Any rumors that Kim Cattrall might once again reprise her role as Samantha Jones in season 3 have been debunked by Sarah Jessica Parker herself. When asked by ELLE UK whether audiences could expect to see another Samantha cameo, Parker said, 'No, no, I don't think so. Not that we [Parker and showrunner Michael Patrick King] have ever discussed.' The confirmation follows reports that, following the success of her brief appearance in season 2, Cattrall had signed on to return as Samantha again this season. 'Since they've paved the way for Samantha to come back, it's assumed that they've done a deal with Kim and they're just waiting for the right time to announce it,' a source told Life & Style on July 10, 2024. 'The word is that she'll get to do all her scenes in London.' Although relations between Cattrall and Parker were allegedly strained, it was understood that the pair were willing to make it work for the sake of the show. But it turns out, that was just speculation. That doesn't mean things couldn't change, though. Back in 2022, before making her season 2 cameo, Cattrall told Variety that she was done with Sex and the City for good. 'It's a great wisdom to know when enough is enough,' she said. 'I also didn't want to compromise what the show was to me. The way forward seemed clear.' Perhaps there's still hope for another Samantha appearance in the future.

Chase Stokes ‘Such a Blessing' for Girlfriend Kelsea Ballerini: ‘They're Mapping Out Their Future'
has been opening up about her romance with Outer Banks hunk Chase Stokes and a source exclusively tells Life & Style a wedding and babies are high on the agenda as they look to the next phase of their three-year relationship. 'The more Kelsea gets to know Chase, the more she loves him,' the insider says. 'He's just so thoughtful and sweet, and super solid. She loves that he wants to work on things, that's the kind of life partner she wants.' The Grammy-nominated country star, 31, began dating the Netflix heartthrob, 32, not long after finalizing her divorce from Australian singer Morgan Evans in November 2022. After ending her five-year marriage due to 'irreconcilable differences,' Kelsea, who tends to be very open with her fans via social media, gave an update: 'I've always tried my best to share my life with you in a real and vulnerable way, while also protecting layers of my personal life as they unfold. This is now public record so I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce,' she wrote on her Instagram Story. 'This deeply difficult decision is the result of a journey of love, growth, and effort that ultimately has come to an end.' With the painful split behind her, the 'Cowboys Cry Too' singer first started getting cozy with Chase as early as January 2023, with the two snapped attending the Georgia vs. TCU game together that month. Their relationship took off after that, appearing in each other's socials more and more frequently before they went official as a couple in April of that year. The source notes that after two years together, both Chase and Kelsea are open about planning their next steps and aren't shying away from committing to spending the rest of their lives together. 'They talk about everything,' the insider reveals. 'Communication is something they are both big on. That's why they are mapping out their future now, making sure they are on the same page about where they want to live, how they want to raise their future kids, even what kind of wedding they both want.' All this talk of major milestones certainly hints at upcoming nuptials and a family, but more important than anything for the country singer is making sure she applies the lessons she suffered to severely to learn from her the implosion of her first marriage. 'They want to make sure they are aligned on the big things before they just jump in blindly,' the source adds. 'Kelsea learned a lot from her divorce, she wants to make sure not to repeat the same mistakes and Chase is totally on board. If anything, he's leading the charge.' Kelsea noted the 'sexiest' thing she found about the Outer Banks star was his willingness to collaborate in their relationship. 'Now my version of love that I've found, it's steady and it's human, and we work on it," she told People. "That, to me, honestly, is the sexiest thing, like, 'Hey, you want to go to therapy? Let's go to therapy.'" The source confirms, 'He's way more evolved than the average guy and very into self-development, which has been such a blessing for Kelsea.'

‘Everybody Expecting' Brooke Burke & Scott Rigsby's Wedding Will ‘Happen Soon': ‘A Wonderful Match'
Despite Brooke Burke postponing her wedding to fiancée Scott Rigsby, a source exclusively tells Life & Style the nuptials will go ahead eventually as she's more focused on making sure the event is perfect than rushing into formalities. 'She and Scott are still very much in love,' the insider says. 'She absolutely wants to marry him, but there's also no huge sense of urgency because she already feels like she's married to him. He's very much her partner.' The Dancing with the Stars alum, 63, got engaged to Scott, 49, in 2021, but still hasn't penned a date for their wedding after four years, despite giving some dates in the past they ended up blowing by. Onlookers unfamiliar with their relationship might suggest they may never get hitched by the way things are going, though Brooke has discussed how much she's looking forward to the ceremony. 'Part of the hold up has been Brooke's perfectionism,' the source explains. "We really wanna design a wedding that we can enjoy — that's not just a big party for show," she told People in October 2023, adding they were 'committed to 2024' in the same interview. 'For me, it has to be meaningful or not at all, which is the challenge. To do something fabulous and grand and keep that intimacy and keep it special,' the former Wild On! host explained. Another reason for taking it slow is the fact both Brooke and her hubby-to-be want to take their time blending their families, as she and Scott share six kids between them. Brooke is a mother of four: to daughters Neriah, 25, and Sierra, 23, with ex-husband Garth Fisher, and daughter Rain, 18, and son Shaya, 17, who she shares with ex-husband David Charvet. While Scott is father to daughter Lila, 17, and son Levi, 14. Brooke said she has a 'great relationship' with her fiancée's kids, especially Levi. As for her own children's affections for their future stepdad: 'Everybody loves Scott. Thank God.' 'The kids are all on board, which is a blessing because I know how challenging that can be and [I] feel very lucky to be able to say that,' she explained. 'They're excited about our wedding, they're excited about life, they're excited about our new home — they just love him.' The insider adds, 'She has had her daughters help in this from the start, which has been such a joy, they are very happy for her and very invested in it. But that means a lot of cooks in the kitchen so decisions have taken longer.' Even with the delays, 'Everyone is expecting it to happen soon, they're incredibly happy and such a wonderful match. Brooke is one of the sweetest people you could meet and the great thing about Scott is that he cherishes that — he doesn't take advantage. He treats her like his queen, he knows he scored a huge jackpot with her and he doesn't take that for granted.' 'Brooke's been married twice before, but she says nothing has ever felt this easy and stress free before, they just work so well as a pair.'
