Vogue Williams drops 'mortifying' Brian McFadden divorce bombshell
TV presenter Vogue Williams has opened up about her split from Brian McFadden, candidly discussing their breakup aftermath and her forthcoming 40th birthday. Now 39, Vogue, who was hitched to the former Westlife star Brian, 45, from 2012 until their separation in 2015, has occasionally spoken about her ex, even dedicating pages to their union in her autobiography 'Big Mouth'. Recently on Bryony Gordon's podcast, Vogue confessed she once feared she had "ruined" her life by divorcing Brian at just 31. With her milestone birthday on the horizon, Vogue expressed on the 'Life of Bryony' podcast: "I think I'm excited about it because remember like... remember being liked 19 or 20, you think that 40 year olds were just really old and battered, but then when you actually get to it, you're like 'this is a really nice moment'." She went on to say: "I think in your thirties, you're trying to figure stuff out a little bit more. Because I remember ... I was divorced at 31. I was like 'basically that's it I've ruined my life. I'm never gonna have kids. I'm never gonna do what I always wanted to do," reports the Mirror. Vogue Williams, who is now a mum of three with hubby Spencer Matthews, whom she wed in 2018, shared her thoughts on growing older: "And then you see how your life actually starts to unfold, and that's why I think it's exciting to move into your forties." In the same podcast chat, Vogue reflected on her first marriage to Brian McFadden, admitting she was "too young" when they married at 26. She confided in Bryony Gordon that she "wasn't mature enough" at the time but was deeply "in love" with the Westlife star. Opening up about her previous marriage to Brian in an interview last month with the Times, Vogue revealed when she sensed trouble. She confessed: "Maybe not long after we got married. Probably just before. I knew that it probably wasn't the greatest of relationships, but I was very young." She discussed the difficulty of acknowledging a relationship's end and shared with the publication how "embarrassing" she found the situation. Vogue described her divorce as "such a big failure" and recalled how the split from Brian was intensely scrutinised by the public. Vogue also expressed how being divorced in her early thirties was "mortifying" and a stark contrast to where she envisioned herself, having hoped to be "married with kids at 30, not divorced and single". However, Vogue has since found happiness with Spencer Matthews, another Made in Chelsea alum, and together they have three children. The pair celebrated their seventh anniversary yesterday, marking their union since their 2018 wedding. Vogue took to Instagram with a heartfelt post alongside her husband, marking their anniversary: "7 years married today. 3 kids, two dogs and a whole lot of fun."

Vogue Williams admits she wasn't 'mature enough' to marry Brian McFadden
Vogue Williams, who is now married to Made in Chelsea's Spencer Matthews, has spoken about her first marriage to former Westlife singer Brian McFadden on occasion Presenter Vogue Williams has spoken about her divorce from Brian McFadden. She's opened up about the aftermath of their separation whilst reflecting on her growth as she approaches her milestone 40th birthday this year. Vogue, now 39, was married to former Westlife member Brian, now 45, from 2012 to 2017, though their separation was announced two years prior. She has since spoken about her ex-husband on occasion, including having written about their marriage in her new autobiography Big Mouth. She spoke about him again whilst a guest on a podcast in an episode released last month. Vogue told host Bryony Gordon that she thought she had "ruined" her life by getting divorced from Brian at the age of 31. Speaking about her fortieth birthday later this year, Vogue said: "I think I'm excited about it because remember like ... remember being liked 19 or 20, you think that 40 year olds were just really old and battered, but then when you actually get to it, you're like 'this is a really nice moment'." She continued on the Life of Bryony podcast: "I think in your thirties, you're trying to figure stuff out a little bit more. Because I remember ... I was divorced at 31. I was like 'basically that's it I've ruined my life. I'm never gonna have kids. I'm never gonna do what I always wanted to do'." Vogue, who now has three children with her husband Spencer Matthews, whom she married in 2018, added: "And then you see how your life actually starts to unfold, and that's why I think it's exciting to move into your forties." Elsewhere on the podcast, Vogue said that she considers herself to have been "too young" to get married to Brian, having been 26 at the time. She told Bryony that she "wasn't mature enough" then but was "in love" with the singer. In an interview published last month, Vogue told the Times when she thought the marriage was at risk. She said: "Maybe not long after we got married. Probably just before. I knew that it probably wasn't the greatest of relationships, but I was very young." She suggested that it's "hard to admit defeat" in any relationship and told the outlet that she found it "embarrassing" at the time. She said that it was "such a big failure" and noted that her separation from Brian was "very public". Vogue added that she found it "mortifying" to be divorced in her early thirties and that it was far from where she had hoped that she would be at that age. She said that she had wanted to be married with kids at 30, "not divorced and single". Years later though, she's now married to former Made in Chelsea cast member Spencer, with whom she shares three children. The couple celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary yesterday after tying the knot back in 2018. Reflecting on the milestone, Vogue wrote in a post joint post with her husband on Instagram last night: "7 years married today. 3 kids, two dogs and a whole lot of fun."

EXCLUSIVE Naga Munchetty reveals she passed out twice while having the IUD fitted as she accuses doctors of 'keeping women in the dark'
BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty has revealed she passed out twice from the pain of having an IUD fitted, calling for more women to be offered anaesthetic during the procedure. Naga, 50, discussed her experiences with the form of contraception, known more commonly as the coil, as she criticised medical misogyny in the latest episode of the Mail's Life of Bryony podcast. An IUD is a small, T-shaped device that is inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy. There are two types of coils, hormonal and copper. They can stay inside a women's body for five to ten years and are touted to be more than 99% effective as a contraceptive. Pain caused by an IUD fitting varies from woman to woman, with some comparing the feeling to mild period cramps whereas others attest to it being unbearable. In answer to a listener's question on the coil, Ms Munchetty revealed: 'I passed out twice on the bed because of the pain. 'I passed out when it was taken out as well. The problem with IUDs is that they're so good – they provide so much relief and protection to so many women, that the medical world doesn't want to scare people away from having it. 'They almost hide all the issues that can happen. It's like when they tell little girls about periods, and they say it's only a couple of teaspoons [of blood loss]. That's not helping anyone. 'It's sets you up for a life of fear, thinking you're abnormal in some way. That makes people less comfortable talking about it. Just tell us, we're not idiots.' The morning news host added that the cost of anaesthesia factors into doctor's decisions in not to recommend it for most invasive gynaecological procedures. She advised women not to be shy in asking their doctor for pain relief in advance of having procuress done, such as the insertion of an IUD. 'Tell them to explain exactly the procedure you want done and remember your past experiences. If you ask for pain relief, it's not a bad thing. 'You are doing such a good thing for your own body and health in getting something like a smear test or an IUD. ' Ms Munchetty has become an advocate for women's health and the fight against medical misogyny after publicly revealing her adenomyosis diagnosis back in 2023. Medical misogyny is a catchall term used to denote the unfair or prejudicial treatment of female patients. This could include the lack of funding for treatments for female-specific health conditions; delayed diagnoses or a generally dismissive attitude towards the severity of symptoms caused by sexual and reproductive health issues. She recently authored a book on the subject titled 'It's Probably Nothing: Criticial Conversations on the Women's Health Crisis'.
