Field rallies to stun West Branch in district final
MASSILLON, Ohio (WKBN) – Field plated three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to stun West Branch 5-4 in the Division IV Softball District Championship game on Saturday at Massillon Washington High School.
Lilli Sutkowy delivered the game-winning RBI single to seal up the victory for the Falcons, capping off a 3-run seventh inning.
The Warriors were seeking their first district championship since 2021.
Addi Craven opened the scoring for West Branch in the second inning with a 2-run home run.
Tia Ulrich added an RBI single in the fourth inning, giving West Branch a 3-2 advantage after four innings.
Craven delivered her second RBI in the fifth inning on a groundout, increasing the lead to 4-2.
With the loss, West Branch ends the season at 19-8 overall.
Field improves to 22-7 on the season. The Falcons advance to face Perry in the Division IV Regional Semifinals on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Dalton.
