Keke Palmer Dips Into Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel Archives
It's no secret that Keke Palmer has become a major player in the archival fashion game. After her turns in John Galliano-era Dior and vintage Dolce & Gabbana, this month has been all about Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel.
At the BET Awards last Monday, Palmer—working with stylist Molly Dickson—wore a sexy black minidress with paillette embellishments, sheer cups, and a tulle bustle. The piece, which was sourced from Lily et Cie, hailed from Chanel's fall 1993 haute couture collection.

Yesterday, Palmer hit the streets of New York City wearing an all-black look—including a cropped black lambskin jacket from spring 1995—that she paired with a black skirt finished with a corset-like waist and front vent. The brand's telltale interlocking C motif was present throughout the look, from the buttons on her jacket to her gold rope earrings and her double-strand chain belt.
And while it still has a few years until it reaches vintage territory, Palmer made a bid for the return of Lagerfeld's Chanel Boy Bag, which she carried in black with more gold hardware. If anyone can usher in the next It-bag revival, surely it's Keke Palmer.
