Forum: Touched by the help extended by Sheng Siong staff
I was shopping at a Sheng Siong supermarket in Chin Swee Road last week when a bottle of kaya dropped out of my trolley bag and broke, spilling kaya on the floor and in my bag.
I asked one of the cashiers, Ms Lim Sock Pheng, for help, and she brought over some wet wipes that we used to clean the floor and the inside of the bag.
She also offered to wash some of the bottles in my bag that had kaya spilt on them. I was pleasantly surprised she took the time and trouble to do that.
While she was away, I continued cleaning the bag, but cut my finger on some broken glass pieces. Ms Lim's colleague not only brought me a plaster, but also attended to my cut to stop the bleeding. She was calm and professional throughout.
She went on to help me pack my groceries, and, when it came time to pay, advised me on the various promotions and how to get the best discounts on my bill.
Once the items were scanned and paid for, she called a young male colleague over to help me take my groceries to my car.
Ms Lim and her two colleagues at this Sheng Siong supermarket went beyond their normal duties and job scope.
Their service, help and compassion touched me, and I hope they will be recognised for their actions.
