Pet supply store owner sexually abused 12-year-old volunteer, OR officials say
The 54-year-old former owner of a pet supply store is facing prison time after he was convicted of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl, Oregon officials said. Daniel Stuebgen, the former owner of Happy Trails Feed and Tack and Green Acres Beach & Trail Rides, was accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old volunteering at his stores on five separate occasions in 2023, according to a May 20 news release by the Lincoln County District Attorney's Office. The abuse occurred between June 2023 and September 2023, according to court documents obtained by The Oregonian. 'Daniel Stuebgen is no longer affiliated with Happy Trails Feed and Tack. Please come in and meet the new owners,' the store said in a July 2024 Facebook post. The store has a new owner and changed its name to Lincoln City Feed, according to an August 2024 Facebook post by staff. On May 1, after a five-day trial, Stuebgen was found guilty by a jury on charges of rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct, prosecutors said. He is scheduled to reappear in court on June 3 for his sentencing, officials said. Lincoln County is about a 120-mile drive southwest from Portland.
