Report: Steelers among 5 NFL teams revealing new alternate helmets
Report: Steelers among 5 NFL teams revealing new alternate helmets The Steelers may be getting some new uniform options — as it was recently reported that a new helmet will be unveiled by Pittsburgh this summer. According to Andrew Lind of multiple sources have confirmed that the Steelers, Browns, Chargers, Commanders, and Saints will showcase new alternate helmets in July. Here's what Lind had to say about the possible designs: "Details are limited at this time, so it's unclear if the Browns, Commanders and Saints will introduce a new shell color or simply tweak their existing alternate designs. But one thing for certain is that the Chargers and Steelers will finally add a second shell to their respective closets, leaving the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers as the only teams without a second shell." The 'second shell' could very well be the beloved all-gold helmets from the Steelers' 75th-anniversary uniforms — a design that would pair perfectly with Pittsburgh's current Color Rush uniforms.

Man describes alleged sexual assault at trial of former N.W.T. teacher and coach
WARNING: This article contains graphic details that may be disturbing. It also may affect those who have experienced sexual violence or know someone affected by it. Another complainant testified on Wednesday at the sexual assault trial of a former N.W.T. teacher and coach, and said that Neil Barry touched him inappropriately on two occasions. Barry is on trial facing three charges of sexual assault and three charges of sexual exploitation. Barry worked as a teacher in the N.W.T., between 2007 and 2017. The Crown alleges the sexual abuse involved four boys, then aged 16 to 18. The Crown prosecutor says Barry allegedly committed the sexual offences between 2007 and 2011. On Wednesday, the court heard from a complainant who was an athlete at the time of the alleged incidents, and Barry was his coach. The complainant's identify is protected by a publication ban. The man said that Barry helped him as an athlete, but he described two incidents that he said changed his relationship with his former coach. CBC News isn't reporting certain details of the alleged incident to avoid disclosing the identity of the complainant. The complainant described one of the incidents that allegedly happened when he was in Yellowknife with Barry for a sports event. He said he was asleep on a couch and awoke to Barry placing his testicles in his hand. The complainant said he opened his eyes carefully, trying not to alert Barry that he was awake because he was scared for his safety. During cross examination on Wednesday, defence lawyer Amy Lind asked the complainant if he had actually opened his eyes — he had said in earlier police testimony that he kept his eyes closed during the alleged incident. The complainant was adamant that he did open his eyes and see Barry. He said he struggled to remember the details of the event when first reporting it because of how traumatic it was. Lind continued questioning the complainant and suggested that the incident hadn't actually happened as he described it. She suggested that the complainant may have been asleep on the couch with his own hand in his pants and awoke when some of his teammates walked into the room. Lind asked the man how the news of Barry's arrest had traveled through the community. The man said he had received messages from people on Facebook discussing the news. She suggested that he may have misremembered certain details about his relationship with Barry after hearing the news of Barry's arrest. Barry was officially charged in 2021 and is pleading not guilty to all charges. The jury trial continues on Thursday.

Complainant testifies at trial of former N.W.T. teacher facing sex-related charges
WARNING: This article may affect those who have experienced sexual violence or know someone affected by it. A Yellowknife jury heard this week from one of the complainants in a sexual assault trial of a former N.W.T. teacher. Neil Barry is facing three charges of sexual assault and three charges of sexual exploitation. Barry worked as a teacher in Tulı́t'a and Fort Simpson, N.W.T., between 2007 and 2017. The Crown alleges the sexual abuse involved four boys, then aged 16 to 18, whose identities are protected by a court ordered publication ban. The Crown prosecutor says Barry allegedly committed the sexual offences between 2007 and 2011. Testifying on Thursday, one of the complainants told the jury that Barry, now 49, sexually assaulted him in Yellowknife in the summer of 2009. The complainant, who was 18 at the time of the alleged assault, told the court that Barry was his school teacher and basketball coach in Tulita, and that his parents didn't live in the community. He described how, being away from his hometown, he had a parent-like relationship with Barry, and often talked to Barry about all his problems and concerns. The man told the court that in late spring or early summer 2009, he and Barry were in Yellowknife for the Arctic Winter Games basketball trials, sharing a hotel room. He said that one evening, they had consumed some alcohol and then went to bed. He then told the jury that later that night he woke up to Barry performing oral sex on him. He said he was shocked and froze, unable to call for any help. He said he pretended not to notice and gently moved away and over to a couch in the room. "This is the person I thought cared about me and was there for me," the man told the court. After the alleged incident, the complainant said that he brushed it aside and tried not to think about it. The man also described other sexual incidents that he said made him feel extremely uncomfortable with Barry. He told the court that he kept it to himself for years, feeling scared and embarrassed. But after having children of his own, he first told his wife about it. He said he later called the RCMP to report a sexual assault. Barry was officially charged in 2021 and is pleading not guilty to all charges. During the complainant's cross-examination on Friday, Barry's defence lawyer, Amy Lind, questioned the witness about how he could remember incidents that happened so long ago, and pointed out inconsistencies between his testimony in court, and what he told police about the incident. Lind said the man had told police that he waited for Barry to pass out that night, and had shouted at Barry after waking up to find him performing oral sex. Lind also told the court that the Arctic Winter Games basketball tryouts were held from December 4 to 6, 2009, and not in the spring or summer, as the complainant had testified. The man told the court that his emotions were running high when he was giving the police statement, and that the entire experience was traumatizing. He said the incident affected him and his family a lot, for many years. The trial continues Monday.
