What's Driving You Crazy? – Even small towns have road work
ELY, NV ( KLAS ) – It's not always about the cones and construction in and around Las Vegas.
It was standing room only recently in downtown Ely at a Nevada Dept of Transportation public meeting on upcoming road work. At least one person was excited about. Lifelong Elyite Virginia Terry:
'It's going to increase the pride of our downtown. This will bring more and more [business] in.:
The head of NDOT, Linda Larkin Thomason, was on hand to talk about the impact of the 'Complete Streets' project:
'Think of every single cone as 'someone has a job, and progress is being made.''
So was Ely's mayor, Nathan Robertson:
'Infrastructure is the one main thing that government can do that's an investment, and the city is proud to be a partner of that.'
Just like us 'big city' folk in Las Vegas, drivers in Ely, you have about a year-&-a-half of cones and lane restrictions before the project wraps up.
Buckle up, drive carefully – and please put down that phone!
