I've tested dozens of white linen trousers and this is the only £65 pair I recommend
Nobody's Child has the perfect pair of white linen trousers that won't crease or show your underwear through them, says our head of fashion There's something about a pair of linen trousers that just makes getting dressed in spring and summer feel easy. When the weather can't decide what it's doing—warm one minute, rainy the next—linen is the fabric you can always rely on. It's light, it breathes, and it somehow manages to look put-together even when you've just rolled out of bed. A good pair of white linen trousers can take you from a weekday coffee run to a weekend lunch without needing a second thought. And Nobody's Child has nailed it with its White Linen-Blend Relaxed Trousers. At £65, they feel like a bit of a steal considering how often you'll wear them. The fit is spot on—wide-legged without drowning you, and with a drawstring waist that makes them comfy enough for long days but still structured enough to wear out. The high rise flatters without feeling restrictive, and the roomy pockets (yes, real ones) are a win for practicality. If your main issue with linen is how it creases even after you iron it, these trousers are made with a linen-viscose blend, so you get that classic linen look without the creases going completely wild by midday. Most importantly, though, is that the white is crisp but not see-through, which is honestly half the battle when it comes to light-coloured trousers. You still need to be conscious of your underwear choice, but a white or nude pair will work perfectly under these. Though the high street is packed with linen trouser options for all budgets, it's worth paying a little more for these Nobody's Child ones (more being £10-£20 more, so not a huge splurge), because many cheaper pairs will crease and look see-through, which is only really suitable for beach wear. These trousers are also one of those pieces that work with practically everything. Chuck on a T-shirt and trainers, or tuck in a knit jumper and add some chunky jewellery—either way, you're good to go. And because linen always has that slightly relaxed feel, it never looks like you're trying too hard. It's laid-back but still polished. If you're after some alternatives, COS does a great version with a similar drawstring waist and slightly more tailored leg for £65—they've got that cool minimalist cut that COS always nails. Or, if you're on a budget, M&S's Linen Blend Wide-Leg Trousers at £27.50 are a solid shout. They've got a good drape and loads of colour options, but the white pair holds its own for a classic, easygoing look. In short: if you're even vaguely considering white linen trousers this year, start with the Nobody's Child pair. You won't regret it.
