Mother Monster meets Milo Dinosaur: Lady Gaga makes surprise pit stop at Singapore's Maxwell Food Centre (VIDEO)

SINGAPORE, May 21 — Lady Gaga conjured up some lunchtime magic in Singapore yesterday when she unexpectedly appeared at the Maxwell Food Centre — and yes, it was full-on Mother Monster fashion. Decked out in an all-black bodysuit, oversized Prada sunnies and towering platform boots, the 39-year-old superstar made jaws drop as she tucked into local fare with her entourage in tow. On the menu? Multiple cups of Milo Dinosaur and a few bottles of Tsingtao and Chang beers — because even pop royalty needs to hydrate in style. Seated at table 171, right in front of the Fortune Popiah stall, Gaga kept things relatively low-key (well, as low-key as Lady Gaga can be), but it didn't take long for the Little Monsters to sniff her out. While most fans admired her from a respectful distance, a lucky few managed to approach and chat briefly. As she headed off, a small crowd had gathered to cheer her on — and one especially fortunate fan scored a signed copy of her Mayhem album as Gaga made her way to her car. #singapore #mayhem original sound - @itsfiqqy 16 YEARS OF BEING LITTLE MONSTER AND I SAW HER NOSE RIGHT INFRONT OF ME WHILE I WAS GOING FOR A COFFEE BREAK AT MAXWELL HAWKER CENTRE??!?!?! FELT SURREAL! I LOVE YOU @ladygaga #ladygaga This surprise appearance came between her four-night Lion City Mayhem concert series at the Singapore National Stadium that began in May 18. With two more performances on May 21 and 24, one thing's clear: Singapore's in full Gaga fever. And now, so is table 171.

Lady Gaga concert in Singapore: A theatrical masterpiece

On Sunday night (May 18), Mother Monster made her grand return to Singapore with the first of her four Asia-exclusive shows at Singapore's National Stadium. Lion City Mayhem was Lady Gaga's first reunion with Little Monsters here in 13 years, and anticipation was high even before the start of the show as fans roused each other, throwing the venue into thunderous applause. The concert kicked off in grand fashion, with Lady Gaga wheeling in atop a towering cage filled with dancers as she launched into Bloody Mary. It is the kind of ostentatious display fans have come to expect – and love. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Lion City Mayhem was not a concert; it was a polished theatrical production that spotlighted the 39-year-old's monumental growth as an artiste – one who is now also a respected actress and an Academy Award winner. Set in five acts, Lion City Mayhem was, at its core, a gothic opera that used Lady Gaga's repertoire of songs to further its plot, as opposed to being a 'Night Of Lady Gaga's Best Hits'. Lady Gaga Lion City Mayhem in Singapore setlist: Bloody Mary Abracadabra Judas Scheiße Garden Of Eden Poker Face Perfect Celebrity Disease Paparazzi Alejandro The Beast Killah Zombieboy Die With A Smile How Bad Do U Want Me Shadow of A Man Born This Way Blade Of Grass Shallow Vanish Into You Bad Romance The result was 120 minutes of Gaga continuously upping the ante, delivering captivating performances amidst haunting set pieces. Conversely, the set-up also led to a few unwittingly funny moments like her singing the power ballad Die With A Smile – one of the most romantic songs in modern history – dressed as a devil playing a piano, blanketed with human skulls. But hey, that's Gaga for you. While Lady Gaga and the production itself scored full marks in my book, I would be remiss if I didn't warn potential attendees, especially those seated in the floor section, that due to the relatively small stage size, you'll pretty much have to stand throughout the entire show just to see what's going on on stage. And even then, be prepared to have your view blocked by a sea of phones. Which, of course, isn't due to any fault of Gaga herself. But just be mentally prepared to stare at the giant screens throughout the show. All in all, Lion City Mayhem was a reassurance that despite Lady Gaga's numerous achievements, she is still who she is at heart: A monster performer.

Lady Gaga's 'Lion City Mayhem" — a night of unadulterated singing, dancing and fun

May 18, 2025, Singapore, National Stadium – The Lion City was set ablaze as Lady Gaga descended upon its shores for an exclusive four-night residency, 'Lion City Mayhem.' This marks her return to Singapore after 13 years, since her 'Born This Way Ball Tour' in 2012. And just like any Lady Gaga production, this wasn't just a concert; it was a full-blown cultural moment, a seismic event that left the sold-out show and 47,240-strong crowd breathless, bedazzled, and wanting more. As the lights dimmed, a palpable energy surged through the stadium. The stage, a multi-tiered, architectural marvel, pulsed with vibrant colours and avant-garde visuals, setting the tone for the sensory overload that was to follow. And then, she appeared. Emerging in a dazzling, custom-made ensemble that only she could pull off, Gaga launched into a high-octane rendition of 'Bloody Mary' followed by the hit, 'Abracadabra,' a track from her latest album, Mayhem . The sea of Little Monsters erupted, and sang along to every lyric. The setlist was a seamless blend of new hits and iconic classics. 'Poker Face' and 'Bad Romance' transported the audience back to the glory days of the late 2000s, while the chorus of 'Die With A Smile' and 'Shallow' brought the stadium to a hush, save for the collective voice of thousands singing along, their phone lights creating a galaxy of stars. Tracks like 'Killah' and 'Disease' showcased Gaga's versatility, her ability to seamlessly transition from pop princess to edgy, experimental artist. But a Gaga show is never just about the music. It's a spectacle, a theatrical experience that transcends the traditional concert format. Costume changes were frequent and fabulous, while the choreography was tight, dynamic, and at times, downright daring. Gaga, along with her troupe of dancers, commanded the stage with an energy that was infectious. The production, as expected, was theatrical. There were pyrotechnics, lasers, and stunning visual projections that transformed the National Stadium into a pulsating, otherworldly realm. Every element, from the sound design to the lighting, was meticulously crafted to create an immersive, entertaining experience. Lady Gaga has done it again. She's a cultural phenomenon and the epitome of self-expression. She proves once again why she's a true icon who continues to push boundaries and redefine what it means to be a pop star. If you have tickets for the next few shows, you're in for a treat — but you knew that already. Lady Gaga performs in Singapore on May 18, 19, 21, and 24, 2025 at the Singapore National Stadium. Ticket prices range from $148 to $368, with VIP packages available from $648 to $1,348. Some single and restricted view tickets might still be available on Photo credits: Hoong Qi Hao, courtesy Live Nation. WHAT TO PACK FOR THE CONCERT A phone will great zoom functions, like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge with a 200MP camera lens. Either a handheld fan, or one of those portable electronic ones; with a 55,000-strong crowd, it's hot. An empty water bottle (glass ones aren't allowed). You can fill it up at the water coolers inside the stadium. Don't forget a portable charger; pack one in because you don't want to run out of phone battery — especially if you need to call a Grab at the end of the night. Payment systems have gone wireless, so tap to pay for stuff (like F&B and merchandise) with a credit card, your phone's wallet, or smart watch. Bring a small umbrella in case it rains. The weather has been erratic lately and you don't want to get stuck or drenched. If you're buying food on site, have a packet of tissue paper and wet wipes handy. Even more so if you brought your kid along to the show (6 and above only). Also, you never know when the toilets run out of toilet paper (everyone's worst nightmare). We brought along our Loop earplugs (Coachella edition) to test out. When the music gets too loud, you'll do well to protect your eardrums with the physical barrier of good quality earplugs — but at the same time, these are designed to let the music through so you don't miss out on the music.

Lady Gaga's official website showcases Singapore icons like the dragon playground ahead of concert

Lady Gaga's official website was recently updated to showcase several Singapore icons floating against a digital, animated backdrop of the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) skyline, when viewed on an iOS device. This was done ahead of her highly anticipated upcoming concert in Singapore, titled Lion City Mayhem, or Mayhem Singapura, on May 18, 19, 21 and 24 at the National Stadium, with the city being her only stop in Asia. The local symbols featured include the dragon playground, a Nonya multi-tiered food container, also known as a tingkat, a Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid, a Peranakan lantern and a blue porcelain cup. These symbols are interspersed with the exclusive Lion City Mayhem merchandise line, which includes vinyls, T-shirts, a towel and a keychain. You still get the Singapore skyline when you visit her site on a non-iOS device, but instead of those icons, you'll see boats racing by on the water. These country-specific animations and features were also done similarly for other cities she toured at, including Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and Mexico City. In the month of May, little monsters can also enjoy a slew of events to celebrate the pop star's arrival in Singapore, including a Lady Gaga-themed light show at MBS, afterparties, food and beverage offerings and more. Lady Gaga last performed in Singapore in 2012 for her Born This Way Ball Tour, where she did three shows at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. She also held concerts and exclusive showcase performances in 2009 and 2011. The announcement for her Singapore shows comes at the heels of the release of her seventh studio album, Mayhem, in March. The 14-track album is seen as a return to her early dark-pop sensibilities. Prior to the album's release, she debuted three singles: Disease, Abracadabra and Die With A Smile.
