Community comes together for 9th annual Strides for Life 5k
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A 5k race was held on Saturday morning to raise awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation.
The ninth annual Strides for Life 5K event started at 9:30 a.m. at Solvita in Kettering. It was hosted by Life Connection of Ohio, Solvita and Lions Eye Bank of West Central Ohio.
This year's event featured an in-person 5K run/walk, a Kids' Fun Run and a virtual reality 5K run/walk.
Dayton detective continues to save lives through organ donation
'We aim to stomp out the waiting list one stride at a time, and we honor those who gave the gift of life every step of the way,' said Solvita in a release.
Tyler Gray of Englewood placed first with a clock time of 18:38.6. Trey Kehr was second at 20:10:07 and Robert Saul was third at 10:39:6.
