Kate Bush tribute band to perform album in full at show this weekend

A Kate Bush tribute band is set to perform an album in full at a show this weekend. Lisa Abbott's Hounds of Love Band will take to the stage at Ironworks Studios in Cheapside, Brighton, on Sunday, May 11. The ten-piece band will perform the 1985 album Hounds of Love in full, as well as other hits by the singer. Lead singer Lisa said: "We've been playing this album for over 10 years now, and I'm always amazed at its stylistic range. "It has everything from Irish jigs to synthpop to lilting ballads." The band is made up of Brighton musicians, including film composer James Williams, and members of the Brighton Beach Boys. Lisa said: "Other Kate Bush acts are available, but they're mostly small groups. "We are a large band with a string section and we play every note. "There are no backing tracks." The album was two years in the making and pushed the recording technology of its time to its limits. Lisa said: "Reproducing it in such detail, is a tall order, even for such a large band, but several members are multi instrumentalists, which helps. "Kate has some of the most passionate and committed fans around and we get some of that passion secondhand you might say people get quite overwhelmed which is wonderful." The album features Running Up That Hill, which saw a revival after it was featured in the Netflix show Stranger Things. Lisa said: "Certainly, it's kickstarted a wave of interest that might not of happened otherwise. "The more curious kids will often want to delve a little deeper and find out who this fascinating creature is. "There is certainly no one else around like her in the charts today." The show will take place from 8pm to 10.30pm. Tickets are available on the Ironworks Studios website.
