Durban serves up a comedic feast and a delightful ballet performance this May

This month, Durban promises an unforgettable blend of laughter and artistry, with a line-up of events that caters to both comedy lovers and ballet aficionados.
From side-splitting stand-up routines to enchanting ballet performances, attendees can immerse themselves in a rich tapestry of entertainment, all while contributing to a vital cause.
"Mr & Mrs Normal"
This is an all-you-can-eat comedy buffet, serving up a zany mix of new and familiar characters, laugh-out-loud moments, and show-stopping musical numbers.
Headlined by comedy legends Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert, this fast-paced, side-splitting spectacle is packed with razor-sharp wit, lightning-fast costume changes and boundless energy.
The event is a fundraiser in support of the Youth Education & Support (YES) Trust, a NPO that provides vital funding and mentorship to young South Africans pursuing tertiary education.

"My New Debit Order"
Back by popular demand, one of Durban's most beloved stand-up comedians, Carvin H. Goldstone, will be returning to stage for a second run of his hilarious family show "My New Debit Order".
Goldstone will humorously explore the experience of welcoming a new baby in his 40s, the challenges of In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) and the arrival of a new baby, which he playfully refers to as his "new debit order".
He also discusses topics such as childbirth, raising a teenager, and the impact of new presidents in both South Africa and the United States and the cost of living going into 2025.
Where: Sibaya Izulu Theatre.

"Coppélia"
With its charming and mischievous plot, brightly coloured costumes and glorious music, "Coppélia" is as ideal for families and serious dance lovers, as it is for newcomers to the ballet.
Featuring Cape Town City Ballet and the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, true love triumphs in this enchanting fairytale, which features three main characters - the young Franz, his fiancée Swanilda and the mysterious doll-maker, Dr. Coppelius, who creates the life-like doll, Coppélia.
