Judas Priest Fans Have Been Waiting A Long Time For The Band's Latest Release

Judas Priest will release Live in Atlanta, a 1982 concert recording, as a standalone double LP on ... More Record Store Day—its first time available outside a box set. Judas Priest (Photo by Aaron Rapoport/Corbis via Getty Images) Judas Priest has been going strong as a group for more than 50 years, and the legendary band is still giving fans plenty to get excited about. Following the release of its latest full-length Invincible Shield in 2024 — a global success that proved the act's continued commercial power — the British hard rock outfit is once again offering up something new. Well, sort of. In just a few days, Judas Priest will drop Live in Atlanta, a concert recording that was taped decades ago. It's not exactly new, but the release is a big deal for fans of the band, as it will be available as a standalone set for the first time ever. As part of Record Store Day 2025, Judas Priest will finally give Live in Atlanta the spotlight it deserves. The title will be released exclusively on April 12 at independent music retailers, so fans hoping to grab a copy should plan to show up early. Only 6,400 copies of the double LP are being pressed, and each will come on red vinyl. Live in Atlanta was recorded on December 11, 1982, during the group's World Vengeance Tour. That trek supported its then-current album Screaming for Vengeance, which spawned hits like 'You've Got Another Thing Comin'' and cemented Judas Priest's reputation as one of the most important names in heavy metal. Hardcore fans may already be familiar with this project. It was previously issued as part of the 50 Heavy Metal Years of Music box set, a comprehensive collection that featured dozens of recordings. But until now, the only way to own Live in Atlanta was to buy the entire package. This latest offering marks the band's first 'new' live album since Battle Cry came out in 2016. Live in Atlanta is sure to be one of the most sought-after exclusives of Record Store Day 2025. With just that 6,400 figure being made, the set is still one of the largest pressings planned for the event. If Judas Priest sells even half that number, Live in Atlanta could debut on several Billboard tallies, including Top Rock Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums, and possibly even Top Album Sales. Record Store Day 2025 is set to take place on April 12 at record shops across the U.S.
