Police name woman tragically killed in two-car Dumfries and Galloway crash
The accident happened on the A75 between Castle Douglas and Bridge of Dee on Saturday. Police have named a woman killed in a crash in Dumfries and Galloway. Mary Reeves of Kirkcudbright lost her life following the accident on the A75 between Castle Douglas and Bridge of Dee on the evening of Saturday, May 3. The 67-year-old had been driving a grey Ford Ka when it was involved in a collision with a white Seat Ibiza. The Seat was being driven by a 19-year-old man and both he and his 16-year-old passenger were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police Scotland appeal following fatal crash on A75 near Castle Douglas
Police Scotland is appealing for information from the public after a woman died following a crash on the A75. Officers received reports of a collision involving a grey Ford Ka and a white Seat Ibiza car, between Castle Douglas and Bridge of Dee, just after 8.50pm on 3 May 2025. A 67-year-old woman, driving the Ka, died after being taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. A 19-year-old, driving the Seat Ibiza, and a 16-year-old passenger are in hospital with serious injuries. The road reopened following an investigation of the scene just after 10am on 4 May 2025. Sergeant Lloyd Caven said: 'Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who died. Our enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.'I am appealing for anyone who saw the crash who hasn't already spoken to officers to get in touch.'I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us.'
