GALLERY: Focus Wales 2025 gets underway in Wrexham
This year will mark the 15th year of FOCUS Wales, and is expected to welcome over 22,000 people to the city, building upon 2024′s record attendance across a jam-packed weekend of events. There's no place like Wrexham during the FOCUS Wales international showcase festival, as it showcases over 250 artists, filling out a variety of spaces and music venues. It also hosts a full schedule of interactive industry panels, networking events, and film screenings. The festival got underway on May 8 and will last until Sunday (May 11). The likes of Llwyn Isaf, Saith Seren, Coleg Cambria and even St Giles' Church will host some top musical talent. TOP STORIES The likes of Red Telephone, Half Happy, Denuo and Talulah, who is from Wrexham, have already wowed the crowds. Other acts performing throughout today/tonight include Campfire Social, Lizzie Esau, Jamie Grey, and the Canadian trio of The Deep Dark Woods, Moonriivr and His His. Over 300 live sets of music will take place over the course of four days in Wrexham, with established names and international acts all taking to the stage. Tom Walker gig in Wrexham on Sunday - all you need to know
Walker is a Brit Award winning, chart topping singer/songwriter known for hit songs including Leave a Light On, Better Half of Me and Just You and I. He performed two impromptu gigs in Wrexham's Queen Square in March last year in what he said was an effort to play in areas "artists kind of forget about on a touring schedule". He is now set to return to Wrexham on Sunday (May 4), where he will headline a gig at Llwyn Isaf (Library Field) in aid of Nightingale House Hospice. These tickets are £35.20 each (including fees) and can be purchased on the Gigantic website. Doors to the Tom Walker concert are set to open at 7pm on Sunday. While the gig is scheduled to end at 10pm. Declan Swans will be the support act for Tom Walker at Sunday's gig, along with the Choirs for Good in Wrexham. Their hit song 'Always Sunny in Wrexham' has also become a matchday anthem for Wrexham AFC. Announcing they would be performing alongside Tom Walker in Wrexham, the band said: "Nightingale House Hospice is an amazing charity, the work they do is unbelievable. Get your tickets now!
