Chris Paul's Latest Comments Could Indicate He Wants to Return to Clippers

Chris Paul's Latest Comments Could Indicate He Wants to Return to Clippers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Los Angeles Clippers are expected to be in the market for multiple guards to join their rotation for the 2025-26 offseason. Advertisement They need somebody they can reliably start alongside James Harden and also need some depth in the backcourt after being thin across their roster this past season. While it still isn't clear who the answer will be to join their starting lineup, there could be a very familiar face interested in being that depth option for them. Former Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris PaulKelvin Kuo-Imagn Images During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Chris Paul was asked about how he's going about making a decision on his NBA future. Paul told McAfee that the conversation is with his family more than anything and he wants to "be dad". Despite Paul having spent the recent seasons of his career with the Suns, Warriors, and Spurs, his family still lives in Los Angeles. Advertisement That could mean he would be interested in returning to the Clippers, who he previously spent six seasons with as a part of their "Lob City" squads. During that time, Paul averaged 18.8 points, 9.8 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. He earned All-Defensive honors in each of those six seasons, five All-Star spots, All-NBA honors five times, and finished third in the MVP voting once. One big caveat here is that there is also another relevant team in LA and Paul tried to join them before heading to the Clippers. However, the most of the Lakers' point guard minutes go to Luka Doncic and they already have Gabe Vincent coming off the bench. He's a better fit for the Clippers right now and if he wants to return to LA to finish his career, they'd probably be happy to have him back on the roster.
