Kandiyohi County Board to again consider recommendation for cattle operation
May 18---- The Kandiyohi County Board will hear a recommendation Tuesday from the county's Planning Commission regarding the construction of cattle feed barns on a property along U.S. Highway 71 in Colfax Township.
This recommendation was previously put before the County Board at its April 15 meeting. It was remanded due to issues the board had with odor prevention measures listed in the findings by the Planning Commission in support of its recommendation to approve a conditional use permit.
The new recommendation for approval that will be put forward at the May 20 meeting includes amended findings.
The board will also hear from United Community Action Partnership in regards to administering the Local Homeless Prevention Aid program for the county. In the proposed contract posted on the county website with the meeting agenda, the expenses will not exceed $36,000, which is 57.6% of the $62,542 in annual funds available.
The program was created by the 2021 Legislature to help ensure local jurisdictions are able to prevent child homelessness.
