A Connecticut man was caught driving over 130 mph because he wanted to 'get home to see his cat.' [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] On Sunday, Jan. 26 around 12:48 a.m. a Connecticut State Trooper saw a sedan driving over 130 mph on Interstate 395 in Norwich according to a release. When the trooper asked the driver, identified as 29-year-old Logan Mirmozaffari of Norwich, why he was driving so fast Mirmozaffari said he wanted to 'get home to see his cat.' According to the release, the trooper began to notice signs of impairment, including the smell of alcohol on Mirmozaffari's person, glossy eyes, and slurred speech. After failing to perform a Standardized Field Sobriety Test, Mirmozaffari was placed under arrest. Mirmozaffari was processed for Reckless driving and Driving While Under the Influence charges, according to the release. He was later released from custody on a $500 bond. Norwich man charged with DUI after driving over 130 mph on I-395
NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — State police say a Norwich man is facing DUI-related charges after allegedly driving over 130 mph while under the influence earlier this month. Logan Mirmozaffari, 28, of Norwich was charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and reckless driving. Man charged with OUI after allegedly driving the wrong way on I-395 in Norwich His charges stem from Jan. 16, when a trooper was doing proactive speed enforcement near Exit 11 on I-395 southbound around 12:48 a.m. The trooper reported seeing a Kia sedan traveling 'at an extremely high rate of speed' and clocked it going over 130 mph. The driver subsequently pulled over for the trooper and explained he was driving fast so he could get home to see his cat. The trooper reported seeing multiple signs of impairment, including the odor of alcohol, glossy eyes, and slurred speech. He also failed to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Testing to standard.
