Fortnite is about to tick over into a new season, and you can watch the countdown that guides us out of the Lawless era and into a new intergalactic one.
The dawn of the Death Star is almost upon us, and if we're lucky, the Fortnite island will be all the better for it. The game is preparing to finally say a fond farewell to Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, and while we loved wrestling Outlaw Keycards out of the mitts of Fletcher Kane and breaking into bank vaults across the map, it's time for an adventure that's a little bit more intergalactic.
The Galactic Battle Star Wars season approaches, and the new Fortnite season's early patch notes have revealed a season that's stuffed to the brim with new cosmetics, NPCs, POIs and weapons to play with across an island under the thumb of the Empire. It's going to be a real blast, but hopefully it's a little better held-together than recent events have proven this season to be, after Fortnite matchmaking shockingly went down right before the game intended to plunge into its PlayStation Cup.
Either way, there's heaps to prepare for, whether you're a player who takes the game as seriously as a heart attack or you just want to play dress-up and emote across the island. Thankfully, there's not long to wait, and the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 countdown has officially begun. Here's how you can watch along to the beginning of the incoming season.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 countdown
The Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 countdown is now live, and is ticking down to the conclusion of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3. There is no official countdown in-game from Epic Games, but YouTuber Logo Blocks is currently sharing a countdown that is set to end at 11pm PDT on Thursday, May 1, and 2am EDT / 7am BST on Friday, May 2, which is half an hour after the expected Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 end time.
The countdown won't yet run until the official arrival of the season as Fortnite is still yet to reveal how long it expects downtime to last, but as per our estimations when we explored the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 start time, we can expect the season itself to launch around 3.30am PDT / 6.30am EDT / 11.30am BST on Friday, May 2.
The new season is set to issue a lot of changes to the island, and we're going to have to brace for their impact. Maybe go and rob a vault now, just for old times' sake.
