New on Prime Video in June 2025 — 5 movies and shows to stream this month
A new month means many things, but in this specific instance, it means fresh Prime Video titles are coming our way. At the time of writing, Amazon hasn't yet released the streaming service's full June 2025 schedule, so we've tracked down some of the top titles you can look forward to streaming this month ourselves. One of them is "Deep Cover," a new London-set comedy crime caper starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Orlando Bloom and Nick Mohammed. Plus, there's a new adaptation of "We Were Liars" to look forward to, and, in late June, Prime Video is treating us to a "Countdown," an explosive new crime thriller series. Not seeing anything to add to your watchlist? Be sure to check out our round-ups of the best movies and shows on Prime Video for more recommendations. Here are the five new movies and shows coming to Prime Video in June 2025 that I think you should consider adding to your watchlist. "American Thunder: NASCAR to Le Mans" is a feature-length documentary that recounts NASCAR's 2023 endeavor to complete the centenary edition of the legendary endurance race with an American stock car. At the time, NASCAR CEO Jim France recruited NASCAR's franchise's most successful team to build, modify, and race the Chevrolet Camaro car in this grueling challenge. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. With the aid of world-class drivers Jenson Button, Jimmie Johnson and Mike Rockefeller, Hendrick Motorsports strove to turn the car into a vehicle capable of rising to the occasion. And in this new release, you can learn all about this story of innovation and determination on Prime Video. Stream "American Thunder: NASCAR to Le Mans" on Prime Video from June 12 If you're looking for some adrenaline-pumping entertainment, Prime Video's upcoming crime thriller "Countdown" has you covered. Created by Derek Haas (exec producer of the "One Chicago" and "FBI" franchises), "Countdown" is a new action-packed show that sees an undercover team enter a race against time to save the lives of millions living in Los Angeles. LAPD detective Mark Meachum ("Supernatural", "The Boys") is drafted into the secret task force after a Department of Homeland Security officer is murdered in broad daylight, and the hunt for the killer uncovers a far more sinister plot. Expect stunts, shoot-outs and more, and look forward to the series' three-episode premiere this June. Stream "Countdown" on Prime Video from June 25 "Deep Cover" is my most anticipated Prime Video release of the month, as the combination of an off-beat pitch (comedians go deep undercover) and the core cast involved makes for a winning combo. Tom Kingsley's upcoming comedy follows three improv comics — teacher Kat (Bryce Dallas Howard) and her students (Orlando Bloom and "Ted Lasso" star Nick Mohammed) — as they accept a dangerous mission from a London undercover cop (Sean Bean). Together, they're dispatched to infiltrate London's gangland, using their "skills" to impersonate dangerous criminals. Everything I've seen so far suggests it's gonna be a fun time, and I can't wait to see what's in store. Stream "Deep Cover" on Prime Video from June 12 "Head Over Heels" is a new Prime Video K-drama billed as a combination of "heart-fluttering romance with supernatural intrigue." The series revolves around Park Seong-A (Cho Yi-hyun), a high school student leading a double life: by day, she's a normal pupil, but by night, she's a powerful shamaness. Her life takes a surprising turn when she crosses paths with a handsome new transfer student, Bae Gyeon-U (Choo Young-woo), who suffers from an unlucky fate. Park Seong-A sees a vision that suggests his death is imminent, and, after falling head over heels for the new boy, she vows to save his life. Stream "Head Over Heels" on Prime Video from June 23 "We Were Liars" is an adaptation of E. Lockhart's bestselling YA novel of the same name that follows Cadence Sinclair Eastman (Emily Alyn Lind) and her inner circle, called the Liars. The Sinclairs are New England royalty, known for sharing an enviable bond, for good looks, and for their wealth. But after her life is changed by a mysterious accident, it seems that everyone Cadence knows, including her beloved Liars, has something to hide. Excited to see the book brought to life? Look forward to binge-watching "We Were Liars" in June, as all eight episodes are being dropped at once. Stream "We Were Liars" on Prime Video from June 18

Sebastian review – tender, thoughtful sexual odyssey
At first it's just research: aspiring writer Max (Ruaridh Mollica) tentatively ventures into sex work to gather material for his first novel, about a rent boy named Sebastian. But then the side hustle becomes the primary source of income after Max loses his job. This handsomely shot, London-set sexual odyssey is just starting to get a little repetitive (there are only so many anonymous hotel room blowjobs we need, however pleasingly they are lit) when Max meets Nicholas (Jonathan Hyde), a cultured, much older man. A connection develops between them that goes far deeper than the contract between sex worker and client. It's tender, thoughtful film-making from Finnish director Mikko Mäkelä, exploring the bond between two men separated by generations but joined by literature and love. In UK and Irish cinemas

Black Bag' blends marriage and espionage in London
A married couple of top intelligence agents have their loyalties tested in Steven Soderbergh's new spy drama Black Bag. Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett play British spies George Woodhouse and Kathryn St. Jean, who both work at an organisation where a traitor is scheming to steal top secret technology. Expert interrogator George gets tasked with finding the mole and discovers his wife is among the five potential culprits. He rounds up the suspects, played by Naomie Harris, Rege-Jean Page, Marisa Abela and Tom Burke, at his house for an evening of "fun and games" aimed at eliciting information from the group of professional deceivers. "The core of the story is actually where does George's loyalty lie? Is it to his wife or his country?" Fassbender said at the film's London premiere on Tuesday. Blanchett said: "The research we did is so few people who work in espionage are able to maintain and sustain a relationship. All that stuff's there in the movie." A black bag is the term the operatives use to refer to information they cannot divulge to anyone, their partners included. Black Bag, which was written by David Koepp and directed by Traffic and the Ocean's movie trilogy filmmaker Soderbergh, features more dialogue than action, adding a theatre-like quality to the London-set project, Page said. "I think this film is primarily concerned with the human cost and the human impact of spying," said Page, known for his performance in television series Bridgerton. "It's very much about how can you trust anything when you lie about everything? How do you carry that in a relationship? It goes in pretty deep on that," Page, who plays Colonel James Stokes, said. "Sitting across the table playing this kind of verbal, psychological tennis is no weak link in this incredibly high-quality cast." Black Bag, which also stars Pierce Brosnan as the head of the spy agency, began its global cinematic rollout on March 12. Reuters

The first clip for Netflix thriller series You season 5 teases Joe Goldberg's chilling return to New York
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. A new clip for You season 5 has been released ahead of the show's epic finale on Netflix. Will the disturbingly charismatic Joe Goldberg end up getting away with murder... again? "Love tests us. I've been tested more than most. This is the last time", Penn Badgley's Joe starts saying in the new footage, while getting ready to go out. "I came from nothing. A true rags-to-riches story. I've been through it all. Unlucky in life and in love until I met you", he adds, referring to Kate (played by Charlotte Ritchie). "Who knew I would become the luckiest guy in New York?," he says looking at the mirror, confirming he is still as delusional about himself as ever. Unfortunately, the teaser doesn't reveal any more details about the upcoming final season, but it does give us a taste at the show's chilling return. The new episodes will follow Joe's attempt to start a new life with Kate following the shocking London-set events of You season 4 part 2's ending. Now he is back where everything started, New York, where plenty of memories and secrets are threatening to come to the surface. "Every season they manage to find new space to make it interesting and relevant. And this season, I think somehow coming back to where it started allowed for it to just become grounded in the way that it needs to also have this kind of spectacular finish," Badgley told Tudum about the final season. Netflix teased season 5 of the show last month, first with a date announcement teaser that took us on a trip down memory lane, and later with a teaser trailer that showed Joe getting trapped in his own glass box. Along with Badgley and Ritchie, You season 5 sees the return of Tati Gabrielle as Marienne, and adds new cast members including True Blood's Anna Camp as twins Raegan and Maddie Lockwood, and The Handmaid's Tale star Madeline Brewer as Bronte. The fifth and final season of You will run for 10 episodes, all of them set to drop on Netflix on the same day. Unlike the previous season, this one won't be split into two halves, so get ready for some serious binge-watching that weekend. You season 5 arrives on Netflix on April 24. In the meantime, check out our picks of the other best Netflix shows to fill out your watchlist.

Renee Zellweger celebrates 'old friend' Bridget Jones as film has London premiere
LONDON, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Renee Zellweger said her character Bridget Jones "feels like an old friend" as she and the cast of "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy" attended the film's world premiere in London on Wednesday. Over two decades after "Bridget Jones's Diary" came out, the fourth movie in the series finds Bridget now a single mother of two after the death of her husband Mark Darcy. Bridget's friend and former lover Daniel Cleaver, played by Hugh Grant, also makes an appearance in the romantic comedy. As Bridget juggles a career, parenting, seeing friends and starting to date again, Zellweger says it is the character's vulnerability that connects with audiences. "I think a lot of people relate to the challenges that she finds her way through, her vulnerability," Zellweger said on the red carpet. She praised writer Helen Fielding for creating a character that many people find endearing, as well as "moments that seem universally and cross-generationally relatable." Bridget Jones and her romantic adventures first made their mark on pop culture in Fielding's London-set 1996 hit novel "Bridget Jones's Diary". The character's entries listing her weight, her alcohol and cigarette consumption, and details of her love life, struck a chord with audiences. Three more books followed, and a series of movie adaptations - "Bridget Jones's Diary" (2001), "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" (2004), and "Bridget Jones's Baby" (2016). In the latest big screen adaptation, the now 51-year-old Bridget decides to try dating again and ends up meeting 29-year-old Roxster, played by Leo Woodall. "I felt a lot of pressure going into it. But then I met her (Zellweger) and she is just joyous and generous and kind and ... a wonderful actor. I knew ... it was going to be relatively easy-going forward," Woodall said. The movie also features Chiwetel Ejiofor, who plays one of Bridget's children's teachers. Known for films including "12 Years a Slave" and "Children of Men", Ejiofor said joining the franchise was the "easiest yes." "Renee has done an amazing job of creating this character. There are very few things that have lasted for 25, 30 years," he said. Film director Michael Morris did not rule out further movie adventures for Bridget, but said that was ultimately up to Fielding. "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy", released by Universal Pictures, begins its global cinematic rollout on Feb. 12.
