Police issue statement after woman hit by bus on Oxford Street

Police have issued a statement after a woman was hit by a bus on Oxford Street, leaving her in hospital. Officers were called to the road outside Bond Street station around 6.45pm yesterday (May 31). The woman was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. Her condition is not yet known. An air ambulance also landed nearby, drawing the attention of many onlookers in the busy shopping area. There have been no arrests but police enquiries into the incident are ongoing. A Met Police spokesperson said: 'On Saturday, 31 May police were called to Bond Street, at 18:44hrs following reports of a road traffic collision between a bus and pedestrian. 'Met officers attended the scene alongside paramedics who treated a woman on scene before taking her to hospital. 'We await an update on the woman's condition. 'There were no arrests, and enquiries into the circumstances remain on-going.' A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: 'We were called at 6.42pm (31 May) to reports of a road traffic collision near Bond Street Station, W1C. 'We sent multiple resources to the scene, including a paramedic in a fast response car, an ambulance crew and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance. 'We treated a patient at the scene before taking them to a major trauma centre.'

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a woman was fatally stabbed in broad daylight in a busy town centre. The young woman, in her 20s, tragically died at the scene in Croydon, south London, shortly after 9am today. 5 5 Emergency services were scrambled to a secluded back alley off Frith Road, located just minutes from the popular Centrale Shopping Centre in the heart of Croydon. Cops believe the incident started at a nearby address. Sebastian, who was making his way back from the gym, told how he rushed to help two people with stab wounds. Speaking to The Sun, he said: "I heard people panicking and someone shouting for help. "Everyone was too scared to go down that alleyway, but when I saw someone bleeding I knew I needed to help. "I ran over to go and look - some people told me not to go - but it was a natural reaction. "I'm still shaken up by it, seeing something like that. She seemed so young, such a beautiful young girl." The Met confirmed that officers had been called to the scene at 9.07am following reports of a stabbing. A spokesperson for the force said: " Police were called to Firth Road at 09:07hrs on Saturday, 31 May following reports of a stabbing. 5 5 "Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance, who treated two injured people at the scene. "A woman in her 20s sadly died at the scene. A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with minor injuries. "He has since been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in hospital. "A scene is currently in place near to the location and those in the area can expect to see a police presence throughout the weekend. "Detectives are in the early stages of establishing what has happened, but initial enquiries suggest the incident begun at a nearby address, before escalating onto Frith Road."

A woman has been killed and three people were injured after a crash involving a car and a bus in northwest London. Pictures from the scene showed the damage to the front of a bus and a car wedged into a hedgerow after the collision in Bessborough Road, Harrow at around 9.20pm on Monday. A woman in her 40s, died at the scene, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said A child was reported to be among two people rushed to hospital for treatment. Another pedestrian was discharged at the scene. Police said the conditions of those injured are not life-threatening, in an update on Tuesday morning. The driver of the car stopped at scene and he was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody. A mother and her child had been on a shopping trip when the collision occurred, neighbours said. An initialled cricket bat and a school bag were left strewn at the scene. The impact completely shattered the front windscreen of the 395 bus, which runs from Westway Cross Retail Park to Harrow. A London Ambulance spokesman said: 'We treated four patients at the scene before taking two patients to a major trauma centre and discharging one patient at the scene. 'Very sadly, despite best efforts of our crews, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.' Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage of the incident, including drivers with dashcam footage, to contact police on 101 or 'X' @MetCC quoting CAD 7193/24FEB25.
