Boden's 'very classy' £125 dress reduced to £37 is 'perfect' for summer

"Beautiful dress, very classy and a great fit. Love the colours too!" It's officially summer, and although we may have seen our fair share of rain recently, more sunshine is on the way. And with the hot weather comes the itch to rehash the ol' summer wardrobe. Luckily, Boden shoppers think they've found the perfect dress for this year- and what's more, it's currently on offer. The Kate Midi Shirt Dress normally costs £125, but for a limited time, Boden shoppers can snap it up for far less. As part of Boden's huge online summer clearance sale, the Kate Midi Shirt Dress has been reduced to £50, if shoppers opt for the Rich Emerald, Decorative Flora print. It's even cheaper in alternative patters, priced at £37.50 in the French Navy, London Town and Red, Polka Wave prints. However, sizes are selling out at a rapid pace in these particular designs, so it may be best to check out what's still available. The Kate Midi Shirt Dress comes in seven intricate designs and prints in total, all of which have been reduced from the original £125 price point, reported Manchester Evening News. The dress also comes in Petite, Regular and Long lengths, with a size range of 4 to 22. With a pointed collar and midi length, the Kate shirt dress is an easy summer staple for throwing on with a pair of sandals and trainers, and will flatter the wearer's shape without clinging for a lightweight and breezy look. Boden's Kate Midi Shirt Dress £125 £37.50 - £50 Boden Shop Product Description Its matching waist belt is arguably the frock's best feature, which can be tied to flatter the waistline. Another notable and rare feature is that this dress has been blessed with side pockets. For those browsing a similar dress in an even wider range of designs, the Rua Jersey Shirt Dress Midi has been reduced at White Stuff. It's currently 25 per cent off, and is available in eight different prints. Another stylish option is Next's Cream Palm Print Short Sleeve Tie Waist Midi Dress with Linen. At £48, it's in a similar price range, but comes in a more muted palette than the Boden and White Stuff options. The Kate Midi Shirt Dress has been flooded with glowing five-star ratings, although one thing to note is that many have commented on the dress's short length. One impressed five-star shopper said: "Beautiful dress, very classy and a great fit. Love the colours too!" A second penned: "Stunning! Really beautiful dress for work." A third agreed: "I love this dress. Comfy, excellent quality and fit. Good for work or going out for lunch." Somebody else added: "Lovely crepe material. Classic style. Very Boden." Less impressed, another said: "Although the Kate is a lovely dress, and the fabric was absolutely gorgeous, the shape didn't flatter me, so sadly I sent her back." But another wrote: "Fun design, perfect fit . Lovely material that hangs well." While another five-star reviewer raved: "Showstopper dress, gorgeous print and so comfortable." Sir Paul McCartney recalls 'madcap adventures' in new book

Sir Paul McCartney has co-authored a book about his time in Wings. The 82-year-old icon formed the rock band in 1971, after the Beatles split, and McCartney has shared his experiences in a new book called 'Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run'. The chart-topping star - who is set to release the book in November - said: "I'm so very happy to be transported back to the time that was Wings and relive some of our madcap adventures through this book. "Starting from scratch after the Beatles felt crazy at times. There were some very difficult moments and I often questioned my decision. But as we got better I thought, 'OK, this is really good.' We proved Wings could be a really good band. To play to huge audiences in the same way the Beatles had and have an impact in a different way. It was a huge buzz." McCartney formed Wings with his wife Linda, drummer Denny Seiwell, and guitarist Denny Laine. The group released seven studio albums - including 'Band on the Run', 'London Town' and 'Venus and Mars' - between 1971 and 1981. McCartney has co-authored the new book with historian Ted Widmer. Ted said: "Wings was about love, family, friendship and artistic growth, often in the face of tremendous adversity." The book's publisher, Penguin imprint Allen Lane, has also offered an insight into the upcoming release. Allen Lane explained: "The narrative follows the various incarnations of the band as they survive a mugging in Nigeria, appear unannounced at UK university halls, tour in a sheared-off school bus with their children, while producing some of the most indelible and acclaimed music of the decade."

Paul McCartney announces new book about the history of Wings

Paul McCartney is set to release a new book about his time in Wings, the band he formed after The Beatles and with produced hits like 'Band on the Run' and 'Live and Let Die'. Written by McCartney, Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run draws from hundreds of thousands of words about the band taken from interviews with McCartney and other key band members, including co-founders Linda McCartney and Denny Laine. The musician formed Wings with his then-wife Linda in 1971, a mere year after The Beatles' final album Let It Be. Denny Seiwell and former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine comprised the band that went on to release seven albums, including Band on the Run (1973) and London Town (1978). The band also collaborated with McCartney's younger brother, Mike McGear, on his last solo album, McGear (1974) and Laine's second album Holly Days (1977). The band broke up in 1981 and Laine left the group. A final live-in-studio album, One Hand Clapping, was released in 2024, more than 50 years after it was recorded. The new book, edited by the prize-winning historian Ted Widmer, tells an oral history of the band and how they created some of the biggest songs of the 1970s, including 'Mull of Kintyre' and 'Jet'. It also sheds light on the musical landscape of time following The Beatles' breakup and the band's many escapades ,such as surviving a mugging in Nigeria and touring in a school bus with their children In a press release, McCartney said: 'I'm so very happy to be transported back to the time that was Wings and relive some of our madcap adventures through this book. Starting from scratch after The Beatles felt crazy at times. 'There were some very difficult moments and I often questioned my decision. But as we got better I thought, 'OK this is really good.' We proved Wings could be a really good band. To play to huge audiences in the same way The Beatles had and have an impact in a different way. It was a huge buzz' Featuring more than 100 black and white and colour photographs of the group, many of which have never been seen before, the book will reexamine the band's influence on the music industry. It will also include a look at a forthcoming documentary about McCartney's solo career and his time in Wings from the Oscar-winning filmmaker, Morgan Neville (20 Feet From Stardom, Piece by Piece). Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run will be released on 4 November 2025.
