What's open and closed around London, Ont. on Victoria Day
The May long-weekend is considered the unofficial start to summer – and there is plenty to see and do this weekend to help you celebrate. Here's a list of what's open and closed in the Forest City this Victoria Day Monday. Open Free recreational activities put on by the City of London, including pickleball, Zumba, recreational swimming, volleyball, science workshops, and arts and crafts, among others. Registration is required for some activities, and a full list of events can be found online. Section of Colonel Talbot Road closed until June
Part of Colonel Talbot Road, north of Lambeth, will be closed starting Monday, May 12 for road upgrades. The closure is between Southdale Road and Clayton Walk, and includes the Pack Road intersection. It is expected to reopen around June 13. Drivers can take a detour from Main Street to Bostwick Road to avoid the closure. The roundabout at Southdale Road West and Colonel Talbot will remain open, exiting east to continue along Southdale. The closure will affect some bus routes and stops with the city is encouraging transit riders to monitor the London Transit Commission website for updates. Local residents living within the closed area will continue to have access to the road, and signs will be up to guide pedestrians though temporary sidewalk restrictions. All businesses will remain open throughout the construction.

Social Sharing It's the weekend of reflection for the Christian faithful — and hunting for chocolate Easter eggs to the delight of the kids. Many public places are closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, but open on Easter Monday. Here's a list we've come up with for you: Government services and LCBO London City Hall will be closed Friday through Monday. No garbage collection on Friday or Monday. No mail delivery on Friday or Monday. London Transit will operate on a limited schedule on Good Friday. Regular service will be offered on Easter Monday. Service Ontario locations will be closed on Good Friday and on Easter Monday. All LCBO stores are closed on Good Friday and Sunday. Select stores will be open with reduced hours on Easter Monday. Businesses Stores at Masonville Place and White Oaks Mall are closed Friday, open Saturday, closed Sunday and open on Monday. Covent Garden Market will be closed Friday, Sunday and Monday. Most grocery stores are closed Friday and Sunday, but open on Easter Monday.
