President Sisi arrives in Riyadh to participate in informal Gaza meeting

CAIRO – 20 February 2025: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived in Riyadh, on Thursday, to participate in the informal meeting on the Palestinian issue, with the participation of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan. Egypt continued Thursday sending new batches of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, as part of the ongoing relief efforts to support our Palestinian brothers. Aid trucks passed through the crossing gate on their way to the Palestinian side, as part of the 'Long Live Egypt' convoy, which includes trucks loaded with various food and relief supplies, expressing Egyptian solidarity with the residents of the Strip in light of the current humanitarian crisis. A responsible source at the Rafah crossing confirmed that the entry of trucks is taking place according to regulatory procedures that include registering the aid and placing a barcode on it, in preparation for transporting it to the Palestinian interior. The source added that the aid arrives successively to the logistics area in Rafah, where it is classified and distributed in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure its rapid delivery to those entitled to it. A source in the Egyptian Red Crescent in North Sinai explained that the trucks pass through the commercial crossings of Al-Auja and Kerem Abu Salem, before being handed over to the Palestinian Red Crescent, which is responsible for distributing them inside the Strip, to ensure that they reach hospitals, relief centers and the most affected families.
