Crews respond to residential controlled fire near Longmont that spread to neighbor's field
Crews responded to a report of a wildland fire Thursday afternoon north of Longmont. Just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday, fire crews responded to a fire near the intersection of Vermillion Road and North 115th Street, according to Mountain View Fire Rescue's Facebook post. As crews arrived, they discovered a residential controlled burn that escaped containment and spread to a neighbor's field, according to the post. However, officials said crews were able to stop the growth of the fire before any structures were damaged. No fire crews were injured during the incident, according to the post. Assisting agencies include Mountain View Fire Rescue, Longmont Fire Department and Boulder County Fire Management.

Building actively burns at Sugar Mill property near Longmont
DENVER (KDVR) — Fire crews are responding to a building fire on the Sugar Mill property near Longmont. Just after midnight on Tuesday, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said it received reports of a structure fire on the Suger Mill property in the 11900 block of Sugar Mill Road in Boulder County. The property is southwest of Longmont's Fox Hill neighborhood. 6 injured in fiery multi-car crash involving police cruiser that closed Alameda, Buckley Crews from the Mountain View Fire Department and Longmont Fire Department arrived and found a two-story building engulfed in flames. Even though flames were tearing through the building, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said crews would not actively fight the fire. 'Due to hazardous materials and conditions, fire personnel will not be actively fighting the fire and it will burn throughout the night,' said the Boulder County Sheriff's Office in a press release. Personnel from the sheriff's office and Longmont Fire Department remain on the property to monitor the fire. See the latest traffic conditions in Denver on FOX31 Sugar Mill Road is closed and people are asked to stay away from the property. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and investigative resources will be discussed Tuesday. This is far from the first time this property has caught fire. In 2024, the former Great Western Sugar Factory burned for over a day, and in 2020, two separate fires were reported at the property.
