The Dayton Police Department announced that the roads closed due to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will start reopening effective immediately.
However, the tear down process will require 'coordination among multiple vendors and city personnel,' according to the department.
The fences will come down and roads will reopen in the following order:
Fencing at Riverscape
Monument Avenue
Main Street
First Street, and anything on side streets north of First Street
All streets west of Main Street, including West Second Street, West Third Street and Ludlow Street
East Third Street and St. Clair Street
East Second Street, between N. Main Street and Patterson Boulevard
Fencing at Courthouse Square
Police said some of the barriers could be moved to the side of the road which could cause some lane restrictions until they are removed.
Dayton resident Loree Overman said she thinks it's nice to see the area starting to look like normal again.
'I'm happy its being cleared up, but it really wasn't a problem. You just followed directions and found your way through,' Overman said.
