Aussie dad becomes a millionaire overnight as he comes forward to claim Lotto prize with 'random' number selection
An Australian dad of a young family has revealed he can buy his first home after scooping a Lotto fortune.
The father, from Epping in Sydney 's north-west, won $2.4million in the weekend's Saturday Lotto Draw after selecting a random set of numbers.
He discovered his massive payday while at the park with his wife and daughter and admitted: 'I didn't expect to win on such a small ticket.
'At first, I thought I was seeing things, but then I kept checking my ticket.
'I cannot believe it. It's just a random QuickPick. Every time I play, I just select random numbers.'
The Sydney dad revealed the win means his family can finally now enter the Australian property market.
'I'm a little bit excited! This will get us into our own home – our first home,' he said.
'The original plan today was to go to the park and spend time with my wife and daughter.
The Sydney local intends to use his Lotto winnings to buy a house for his young family (stock)
'But now I think I need to calm down - this is very good news!'
The Sydneysider held one of the two division one winning entries in Saturday's Lotto Draw 4569 on May 3, 2025.
Each division one winning entry won $2,478,143.82.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4569 on 3 May 2025 were 30, 29, 16, 34, 43 and 27. The supplementary numbers were 40 and two.
