Man found guilty of second-degree murder in 2023 Dieppe homicide

A Saint John man has been found guilty of second-degree murder in connection with a 2023 homicide in Dieppe, N.B.
Police responded to a shooting at a home on Louis Street around 10 p.m. on June 25, 2023.
Officers found 26-year-old Jacob Wright inside the home with gunshot wounds.
He was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Police say 31-year-old Kyle Smith-Kingsley of Saint John was on parole for unrelated matters at the time of Wright's killing. Smith-Kingsley was charged with first-degree murder on July 20, 2023.
Smith-Kingsley appeared in a Moncton court on Wednesday and was found guilty of second-degree murder, robbery and disguise with intent.
He is scheduled to return to court on July 7 for sentencing.
