Trump appoints acting US attorney for Middle District of Louisiana
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — President Trump appointed Ellison C. Travis as the acting U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana. Travis has served as executive assistant U.S. attorney since July 2023 and previously served as acting U.S. attorney in 2021, first assistant U.S. attorney from 2018-2023 and worked for the Louisiana Department of Justice for over 20 years. 'I am honored that President Trump has appointed me Acting United States Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana. Our office will work every day with our federal, state, and local partners to execute Operation Take Back America, reduce violent crime, and enforce federal law in our district,' Travis said. Travis replaced April M. Leon, who had held the position since February 2025. Metairie man found guilty in child porn investigation
METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — A Metairie man was found guilty on Tuesday, April 8, of child pornography possession and distribution. According to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office, tips received in December of 2020 led to an investigation by the Louisiana Department of Justice into Guillermo Cadir Lopez-Pineda.
