He is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996. Revenue officers seized the drugs, which had an estimated value of €1.8m, on May 12 as part of a joint intelligence-led operation with the Garda National Drugs, Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Louth Divisional Drugs Unit. The drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis. Investigations are ongoing.
