Sevier County: Murder charge upgraded after toddler's death

SEVIER, Ark. (KTAL/KMSS) — Sevier County Sheriff's Office say they were dispatched to a home in Lockesburg, Arkansas where they found an unresponsive two year old female on March 1.
According to the authorities, the two-year-old was transported to the Sevier County Medical Emergency room and later transferred to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.
Sevier County Sheriff's Office detailed at 8:38 p.m. the same evening, deputies 'observed injuries consistent with domestic violence' detained and transported 19-year-old suspect identified as Wesley Davis for further investigation.

They said the investigator interviewed Davis where a confession was given. He was booked into the Sevier County County Jail for Domestic Battering in the first degree.
However, on March 4th, investigators say the toddler succumbed to her injuries and pronounced deceased at 11:29 a.m. at the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. Since the victims passing the case was updated to murder in the first degree ('Class Y Felon').
Sevier County Sheriff's Office state they were delaying a press release due to continuing investigations, and they send their condolences and appreciation to the family and friends of the victim, and all first responders involved.
