Lower House speaker, Iraqi Ambassador talk cooperation

Ammon News - Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Ahmad Safadi, on Sunday discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in parliamentary areas with the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan, Omar Ahmed Karim Barzanji. Commending the "brotherly" Jordanian-Iraqi relations, Safadi and Barzanji said the two countries should build on these "history and strong" ties to serve common interests. Speaking at the meeting, Safadi said Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership, is "always keen" to enhance various aspects of cooperation with Iraq, stressing the importance of joint parliamentary coordination in serving bilateral and Arab issues. Safadi added that His Majesty has "clearly and firmly" said Jordan views Iraq's "pivotal" role in the region with importance in several positions. In this context, he referred to keenness of Jordan's various state institutions and authorities to maintain "strong" ties with Iraq, which requires mutual and continuous efforts to always explore multiple commonalities. Meanwhile, Iraqi ambassador stressed the importance of strengthening joint cooperation, especially in parliamentary affairs, and enhancing various aspects of mutual economic collaboration and cultural and educational exchange. The diplomat noted the two countries' relations are "robust and solid," adding that Iraq views Jordan a "solid and impregnable" barrier for Iraq, affirming resolute stance to foil attempts to disrupt bilateral relations, or delay their progress and development. Barzanji added that the bilateral positions have always been "firm," especially in preventing foreign interference in the two countries' affairs, especially during the war on the terrorist organization ISIS and all the dangers that faced their borders. Safadi: Jordan a model of secure, stable state in region

Ammon News - Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Ahmad Safadi, said Jordan will remain "robust" under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership, thanks to bravery of the army and security services, and Jordanians' awareness and resilience within a "cohesive" internal front. During a symposium held on Thursday at invitation of Fuheis Youth Club, themed: "Current Political Developments and Their Implications for Jordan," Safadi said: "This internal resilience has thwarted all attempts by advocates of sedition and skepticism. Under this equation, Jordan has presented a model of a secure, stable, and steadfast state in the region." On its support to Palestinians, Safadi affirmed Jordan will continue to fulfill its duty towards people in Gaza Strip and Palestine and will "continously" defend the just Palestinian cause and end the brutal war on Gaza, referring to the Israeli occupation's crimes, which are unprecedented in human history. Safadi stated Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)- Arab Army continues its relief role carried out in its field hospitals in Gaza and Palestinian territories. Safadi vowed all attempts to sow discord will be shattered by "resilience" of Jordanians. Safadi said: "Jordanians have every right to be proud of their leader, His Majesty King Abdullah II, who has remained a faithful bearer of the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites, confronting all attempts to displace Palestinians, both Muslims and Christians." Ammon News - Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Ahmed Safadi, on Sunday received the Saudi Ambassador to Jordan, Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairy, on the occasion of the end of his tenure. The two sides stressed the "deep-rooted" bilateral relations under the two kingdom's leaderships, according to a House statement. During the meeting, Safadi stressed the House's solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its rejection of any practices and statements that harm the Arab Gulf kingdom's people. "Security of Jordan and Saudi Arabia is indivisible," Safdai noted, extending thanks and appreciation to Saudi Arabia for its position in rejecting proposals to displace Palestinians to Jordan and Egypt. Safadi said: "We reject the statements issued by the Israeli Prime Minister regarding Saudi Arabia, which constitute a violation of the international law rules and require Arab and international parliaments to condemn them and take clear positions in their rejection."
