Ludlow to conclude 250th anniversary celebrations with ‘Last Night' event

LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) – After a year filled with parades, fundraisers, and community gatherings, the town of Ludlow will mark the grand finale of its 250th anniversary celebrations with a special event, 'Last Night,' on Saturday, February 22. The all-day event at Ludlow High School will run from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and feature food trucks, live music, interactive entertainment, and a fireworks display to close out a historic year of festivities. A rain date is set for February 23. These Massachusetts educators are nominated for National LifeChanger of the Year Award Residents and visitors can look forward to a variety of activities for all ages. More than 70 artisans, crafters, and local authors will showcase their work, while families can enjoy character visits from Anna, Elsa, and Spiderman. Kids will also have the opportunity to participate in free crafts and take a ride on the 'roaming railroad.' Lupa Zoo representatives will be on-site with small animals for guests to interact with, and balloon artist and magician Ed Popielarczyk will provide entertainment from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Live music will fill the venue throughout the day, featuring performances by the CCG Band and the Kingdom of Jones Band. As the evening winds down, attendees can gather around a bonfire before concluding the celebration with a fireworks display at 6:00 p.m. The event will also bring together local organizations, including the Hampden County Sheriff's Department, mounted patrol officers, Ludlow Police and Fire, the Ludlow Health Department, and local Scouts. The Ludlow 250th Committee, led by Chairwoman Linda Collette, has organized a variety of events throughout the past year to honor the town's history, from holiday house-decorating contests to pancake breakfasts and festivals. 'We've seen incredible enthusiasm from the community throughout the year, and 'Last Night' will be a memorable way to bring it all to a close,' said Town Administrator Marc Strange.
