Luka Dončić stays in Dallas to host youth basketball event a day after dropping 45 points on Mavericks
Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Dončić may no longer play in Dallas, but he still has love for the city. While the rest of his Lakers teammates hopped on a plane following their win over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, Dončić stayed in town to host a youth basketball event and promote his new shoe. Dončić held the event at a Dick's Sporting Goods store Thursday. He met with young players, signed autographs and helped out at the register. Considering that, Dončić could have canceled or moved the event, but chose to honor his commitment. It was a nice gesture from a player who was shown a lot of love by Dallas fans Wednesday night. Dončić's return marked an emotional night for the superstar, who had to wipe back tears during warmups. Following the game, Dončić had nothing but positive things to say about Mavericks fans, though admitted he probably needs to "move on" now that he's a member of the Lakers. As expected, Dončić is making a huge impact with Los Angeles. The team is 21-12 since the trade and already clinched a playoff spot. If the season ended today, the Lakers would be the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, and they need one win to clinch that seed. The Mavericks, meanwhile, will need to make it through the play-in if the team hopes to go on a deep playoff run without Dončić.

Jordan Brand Officially Reveals Luka Doncic's Next Signature Sneaker — and a New Takedown Model
Luka Doncic used the occasion of his first game against the Dallas Mavericks to wear his next signature sneaker for the first time, and now Jordan Brand is ready to talk about it — along with a new takedown model. The Jordan Luka 4 will launch in April alongside Doncic's first takedown model, the Jordan .77, which will be available for $20 cheaper. More from Footwear News Sneaker Fans of All Ages Came Out for a Chance to Get Nigel Sylvester's New Air Jordans Michael Jordan's Precise Air Jordan 1 Recreation Has Emerged in Another Colorway - but Will It Actually Release? As the more advanced of the two sneakers, the Luka 4 is the first in the series to make use of a Zoom Air unit. It works in conjunction with a Cushlon 3.0 midsole. A visibly reshaped IsoPlate sees the technology made specifically for Doncic refined as it uses stability and torsional rigidity to keep the foot in place. Additional lockdown comes from the return of breathable Flightwire cables, used previously on the Luka 1 and making a return once again on the lateral side of the upper. The outsole then features a compass pattern with the letters in his first name replacing the letters for north, east, south and west as a nod to Luka's love of wristwatches. 'Space Navigate' and 'Gone Fishing,' two early colorways for the Luka 4, are then modeled after Slovenia's Lake Bled and Doncic's love for fishing, respectively. The former edition is the same one Doncic wore in his 'Revenge Game' with the lakers. 'The Luka 4 is made exactly for my game, giving me a new tool to help me play my best and push my performance,' Doncic said in a press release. 'The IsoPlate really helps me with my balance and my step-backs, the Zoom Air unit adds a new level of responsiveness, and the Cushlon 3.0 midsole makes this a very comfortable shoe.' An IsoPlate and Zoom Air unit carry over to the Luka .77, Doncic's first takedown model, which uses a dual-density foam underfoot and seven strategic heel cutouts. High-abrasion mesh is intended for durability and ventilation, the latter of which could be especially useful when being worn away from the indoors. 'The Luka .77 is for the kids — and for anyone who hoops outdoors,' Doncic said. 'When I was young, I used to play mostly outside but didn't have footwear made for that environment, so I wanted to make a shoe for the next generation, giving them a tool to help them develop their game wherever they lace up.' The Jordan Luka 4 and Luka .77 will both release April 8 through Jordan Brand's website and select third-party retailers. Pricing for the former is set at $120 and the latter $100.
