Geoff Roberts, 99, has returned more than 60 times to Arnhem in the Netherlands to mark the battle in 1944 where more than 1,700 Brits died. Every time, he has visited the graves of his two best pals who took part in the nine-day airborne invasion immortalised in the film A Bridge Too Far. He was the only survivor last year from the 3,500 who took part who was fit enough to return. Geoff, a Private in the King's Own Scottish Borderers, said: 'We failed, and the people of Arnhem paid a heavy price for us trying to liberate them — but they're still thanking us after all this time.' Geoff, of Peterborough, received his gong for services to the commemoration of the Battle of Arnhem and to charity. Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler will attend South Coast Showdown

A DART exhibition featuring professional players will be returning for a second edition at Bournemouth International Centre. An event hosted by ZH Live featuring professional darts stars like Luke Littler, and other top players will be happening on May 10. Headlining the event is teenage darts sensation Luke 'The Nuke' Littler, a favourite for the World Darts Championship 2025. The event, South Coast Showdown II, will be joined by famous figures in the world of darts, including double World Champion Peter 'Snakebite' Wright, former Premier League Champion James 'The Machine' Wade, and Welshman Jonny 'The Ferret' Clayton. There will also be BDO World Champion 2015 Scott 'Scotty Dog' Mitchell, along with Canadian Jeff 'The Silencer' Smith and Darren "Demolition Man" Webster. The event includes a VIP meet and greet at 4.30 PM, with general admission beginning at 5.30 pm and the show starting at 6.30 pm. Tickets are available for £44.50 and group discounts are available.
