Replacing John Mackey Award winner Tyler Warren won't be easy, but tight end Luke Reynolds flashed his talent in limited time last season and will contend for the starting role in 2025. The true sophomore appeared in all 16 games last season and was impressive as a pass-catcher and blocker. Reynolds is likely remembered for a special teams trick play against Minnesota which helped Penn State seal the game, but he'll likely produce plenty more highlight reel plays this season with more playing time.

Reynolds arrived on campus as the third-highest rated tight end recruit in program history, behind only Adam Breneman in 2013 and Theo Johnson in 2020. 247Sports was especially high on him, placing him as the No. 1 tight end and No. 1 Massachusetts recruit in the 2024 class.

Depth Chart Overview
Though he was playing behind the top tight end in all of college football last season, the path has cleared up for Reynolds to make a run at the TE1 spot. His biggest competition for the role comes from veteran Khalil Dinkins, but it'll be hard to hold off Reynolds, who's been extremely impressive throughout winter workouts and spring practices.
