Visionary leadership, dedicated workforce key to Oman's success: Lulu Group chief
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has all the right elements that new foreign investors coming are looking for while entering a country or a market, said Yusuff Ali M.A., founder and Chairman at Lulu Group International, while speaking at the Advantage Oman on Sunday. He said, "I have been in Oman for the last 25 years and from one outlet in Salalah, today the group has over 36 outlets across the country employing over 3,500 Omanis." He praised the Omani employees for being dedicated, honest, and punctual, which are important elements that any employer expects from their colleagues. Ali added that the country is blessed with visionary leadership, a strong economy, a good workforce, and safety, stability, and security. On visionary leadership, he said the Sultanate of Oman never faced a shortage of food during the pandemic, and any hike in prices of essential items to the efficient governance provided by the leadership here. He also praised the religious freedom enjoyed by people of all nationalities and faiths is simply great in Oman. "We expect any country and economy to change and upgrade itself with the latest technological trends with time, just like we do in our supermarkets." He said the Lulu Group emphasis to sourcing local products and encourages other manufactures to set up base in the Sutlanate.

Yusuff Ali praises Omani workforce, focuses on Oman's growing investment potential
MUSCAT: Yusuff Ali M. A., the founder of Lulu Group International, has long recognised the immense potential of Oman's workforce, with the company's commitment to hiring more Omanis as a cornerstone of its local operations. Praising the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of Omani employees, Yusuff Ali shared his insights on the country's growing investment opportunities and Lulu's expanding role in driving the nation's economic progress. "Oman's workforce is one of its greatest assets. They are punctual and very hard working," founder and chairman of Lulu Group International said on Sunday. He was speaking on the sidelines of the Advantage Oman Forum 2025, which began at St. Regis, following his participation as a speaker in one of the sessions at the forum He said: "We currently employ over 3,500 Omani nationals over 36 outlets across the Sultanate, and we are committed to increasing that number. Our employees are hardworking, honest and dedicated, and we believe in investing in their development through specialised training programmes." Yusuff Ali emphasised Lulu's ongoing efforts to provide Omani talent with the necessary skills to excel in both retail and manufacturing sectors. He went on to highlight the broader investment landscape in Oman, citing the nation's strong economy, stable security environment, and continued infrastructure advancements. "Oman has transformed into an investment hotspot, thanks to its stable economy, secure environment, and ongoing upgrades in infrastructure," he said. "The government's proactive approach in creating a favourable business climate offers tremendous opportunities in tourism, manufacturing, retail, and other sectors." Lulu Group is also deepening its presence in Oman, with plans for further expansion. "We're not just focusing on retail but are also growing our e-commerce and Q-commerce (quick commerce) operations. Our new procurement centre is operational, and we are increasing the sourcing of local products," he added. In addition to its retail expansion, Lulu is moving into local manufacturing, with plans for increased meat and vegetable processing. "We are committed to expanding our manufacturing and processing capabilities to support the local economy and meet the growing demand for high-quality products," said Yusuff Ali. On the topic of foreign investment in the Sultanate, Ali encouraged global investors to look to Oman, citing its improving business environment. "Oman is continuously refining its regulations and making it easier to do business. With transparency and clear policies, this is an excellent time for foreign investors to come and explore the opportunities available," he said.

"Hope ties between two countries will further strengthen": Lulu Group Chairman Yusuf Ali on PM Modi's Saudi visit
Jeddah: On the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Saudi Arabia, Lulu Group International Chairman, Yusuf Ali expressed delight on behalf of the business community and said that the visit by the Prime Minister would boost the bonhomie between the two leaders, thereby strengthening the ties further. The Prime Minister was on an official visit to the Kingdom at the invitation of the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman. While speaking to ANI, Yusuf Ali said, "We, the business community, are very happy and as our country is going to become a USD 5 trillion economy, Saudi Arabia will contribute a lot to the growth of our country." He added, "The relations between the two countries will further strengthen and the personal relation between the two leaders and the leadership is great and we hope the relation between the two countries will further strengthen". Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Jeddah on Tuesday for a two-day State visit to Saudi Arabia. Upon his arrival in the country, he interacted jovially with the members of the Indian community. Upon his arrival in Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister was welcomed with a ceremonial 21-gun salute and was received by the top brass. In a special gesture of honour, PM Modi's aircraft was escorted by Royal Saudi Air Force fighter jets as it entered Saudi airspace. PM Narendra Modi, along with Crown Prince and the PM of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will co-chair the second Leaders' Meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council during his visit to the country. Since 2014, PM Modi has transformed the trajectory of India's relations with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries. In an interview with Arab News ahead of his visit to the Kingdom, PM Modi had praised the "limitless potential" of India's growing ties with Saudi Arabia. "In a world full of uncertainties, our bond stands strong as a pillar of stability." He praised Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman's leadership, calling him "a strong advocate of our bilateral ties" and a visionary who has inspired global admiration through the reforms under Vision 2030.

El-Khatib, India's Lulu Group explore investment plans in Egypt
Arab Finance: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib and a delegation from India-based conglomerate company Lulu Group International discussed investment opportunities in the Egyptian market, according to a statement. As part of his current visit to India, El-Khatib met with Najimudeen Ebrahim Kutty, CEO of Fair Exports (India) Pvt. Ltd, a subsidiary of Lulu Group, and Rakeesh Ravi, the company's Commercial Manager and Director. The meeting reviewed the state's economic policies and investment opportunities in Egypt. The minister affirmed Egypt's keenness to provide an attractive investment environment, highlighting the government's efforts to facilitate procedures for investors. El Khatib added that the partnership between Egypt and India enhances economic cooperation across various sectors, particularly in trade, industry, and logistics services. He stressed the importance of leveraging Egypt's strategic location as a gateway to African and European markets. For his part, Kutty noted that the group already owns nine Lulu Hypermarket branches in Egypt, adding that it plans to expand by launching new branches.
