Bexley names ex-Lacoste executive Sébastien Fayet as MD

French menswear label Bexley has recently appointed Sébastien Fayet, former CEO France at Lacoste, as its new managing director. Fayet replaces Bruno Luppens, who took charge of Bexley at the end of 2017, when it was bought by the LBO France investment fund from founder Éric Botton. Fayet's appointment marks a new stage in the French label's European expansion drive. Fayet has joined Bexley following a long career in fashion and retail, including over 20 years working at Lacoste, a brand he joined in 2002. At Lacoste, he held several senior executive roles, in France and abroad. He was in charge of growing Lacoste's footprint in the Asia-Pacific region, before being named CEO France in 2020. Under Luppens, Bexley transformed from a footwear-first brand to a label with a complete menswear range. When Luppens joined, ready-to-wear used to account for a quarter of Bexley's revenue, a share that has now grown to over 50%. Between 2020 and 2024, Bexley's monobrand store fleet expanded sharply thanks to 31 openings, making it 45 stores in total between France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Spain. Revenue in 2024 was €80 million, of which 30% was generated online. 'We have been able to transform the brand by relying on its DNA: Quality, affordable, durable and timeless men's fashion. Digital retail, design, the customer experience, internationalisation, and our staff's professionalism have been at the heart of our transformation. I am proud of the progress the team has made. I am also very happy to hand over the baton to Sébastien Fayet, whose experience will be a major asset in writing the future chapters of Bexley's story,' said Luppens. Fayet will be tasked with continuing to grow the company profitably, with accelerating its international expansion, notably in Europe, and with making the brand increasingly appealing.
