Crestview drops overtime heartbreaker in District Championship
PENINSULA, Ohio (WKBN) – Crestview girls basketball suffered a 46-42 loss in overtime to Canton South in the Division V Northeast 3 District Championship game on Saturday night.
The Rebels maintained an eight-point lead at halftime before the Wildcats responded in the second half to erase the lead and force overtime.
Canton South would go on to outscore Crestview, 9-5, in overtime to secure the four-point win.
Despite the loss, Crestview junior Addison Rhodes scored a game-high 21 points and hit four 3-pointers, while Luvrain Gaskins scored 10 points.
For the Wildcats, Summer Hastings-Peterson led the way with 18 points and Doriana Hastings-Peterson added 12.
The Rebels season ends with an overall record of 21-4, making it the third consecutive season Crestview girls basketball has recorded more than 20 wins.
